Imtech N.V. is expanding its marine services network with a total of five new offices in France, Morocco and Spain. This concerns offices in Le Havre, Saint-Nazaire and Marseille in France and Tangier in Morocco following the acquisition of the French marine services provider ETNA, Etudes Techniques et Nouvelles Applications SA. With its 15 employees, ETNA realises revenue of around 2.5 million euro annually. The acquisition will be paid in cash and will directly contribute to the earnings per share. In addition, Imtech has opened a new marine services office in Algeciras in Spain. Radio Holland Connect, the connectivity competence center of Imtech Marine, was awarded the Gold accreditation in the Inmarsat Connect Accreditation program. Inmarsat introduced the Connect Partner Program to recognize and award high-achieving service providers. Imtech Marine awarded Gold Partner status by Inmarsat

Imtech delightedly announced that it has received the order for Amels build number 6503, a 65 meter yacht, the third in the Limited Editions 212 series. Previously Imtech was also involved in the development of build number 6501 and 6502. Imtech will provide engineering, installation, system integration and commissioning for the switchgear and panels, lighting, alarm and monitoring system, fire detection system, cable trays and transits and the delivery of various components such as batteries and chargers, shore transformer, clean net converter, tank and bilge sensors. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/135351/image/large-e898d69c6ab01c2e90247867f710c9f4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/135351">Over the last decennia the complexity of yachts and the technology on board has increased. Imtech Marine France present at Antibes Yacht Show

Nearly a year after the presentation of Ghost Yachts' Ghost G180, the team of Ghost Yachts and the Italian design studio Gloss Design joined forces with Imtech Marine &amp; Offshore on the development of the Ghost G180H, the first full hybrid superyacht. The G180H is the company's next step towards more sustainable, innovative and efficient superyachts. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133144/image/large-93ffe4a072a348d09338a6b06b484dc3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133144">A solid foundation Ghost Yachts used its Ghost G180 platform for the hybrid yacht. Its Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Van Oossanen &amp; Associates offers the required efficiency to operate a large yacht with a relatively modest propulsion power. Imtech's smart Hybrid system combined with Van Oossanen's revolutionary FDHF have proven to be a perfect combination for a sustainable and efficient yacht. During the development of the system, Imtech managed to unravel the initial complexity of the Hybrid system and shaped it into a compact and sensible unit. Ghost Yachts reduced the required technical space by dividing the Hybrid's technical space in two levels. The silent parts of the hybrid system like the Power Electronics Panels, batteries, and main switchboard are located on the lower deck while the four Volvo Penta D16G generators are located in an insulated engine bay underneath the electronics room. The Ghost G180H is propelled by two completely new electric Voith Inline Propulsors (VIP) of 750kw each. These high efficiency hubless steerable pods have an integrated electric motor and eliminate the need for propeller shafts and rudders. The Voith VIP's and Imtech's Hybrid system result in an extremely silent and vibration free propulsion system. The Hybrid system operates in seven different modes ranging from battery only to full hybrid operation. Each mode is specifically designed to ensure an optimal efficiency in every situation. The system is controlled by Imtech's new IMAS variable frequency drives control system, with interfacing and remote control via the FT NavVision IPMS system. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133145/image/large-6d3321d47f1c751cfe75d71ec17fcff5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133145">Smart interior The G180H has been thoroughly reviewed to learn about the power consumption in navigation and at anchor. The prime consumers have been reviewed to see how much power could potentially be saved. To reduce the power requirement for the chillers and fancoils the G180H's windows are coated with a ceramic film that blocks out up to 80% of the sun's heat producing infrared light. The HVAC system is assisted by a cold water storage to extend the operational time of the system during battery only operation. The interior of the yacht is also designed to require less energy from the HVAC system. The main salon and dining room, for example, are equipped with four generous lateral sliding doors which provide access for a natural breeze that flows through the superstructure. The layout will create a more natural and balanced climate inside this large space by virtually connecting it to the outside areas. Van Berge Henegouwen reworked the AV and communications systems to optimise power consumption. A thorough review of the systems' components and the extensive use of LED lighting guaranteed a lower energy consumption. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133146/image/large-c2a5f682cbeede867b2d98c765af4d53.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133146">Remarkable results Ghost Yachts has compared the G180H to a number of modern displacement yachts with a comparable length and volume. The overall fuel consumption was reduced by a vast 30% while the fuel consumption for hotel operation showed savings of up to 50%. The performance of the yacht is perfectly in line with today's superyachts offering a cruising speed of 15.5 knots with a range of over 4500nm at a 13 knots passage speed. "Developing the G180H was very rewarding." Björn Moonen of Ghost Yachts explains. "In the beginning I approached the project with suspicion rather than enthusiasm. I was convinced that a hybrid system would be too complicated, too big and too expensive to build." he continues. "The Imtech engineers were clearly not sharing my opinion. They developed the hybrid system's layout with my concerns as starting point. When I saw the first technical layout and reviewed the space requirements, the enthusiasm started to grow, especially when we reviewed the overall efficiency data. It was impossible not to be excited by the enormous potential of the system ." "All pieces of the Hybrid puzzle came together on the G180H" Imtech's Sales Manager Marien van der Deijl explains. "Diesel Electric propulsion systems often require a lot of concessions in terms of performance and interior space on a yacht of this size. These models also shared from the benefits of the hybrid's development, confirming the need for efficiency to create speed. The G180V offers a 32knots cruising speed and a 36knots top speed. An updated centre boost unit gives the G180V a top speed of nearly 50 knots. The efficiency of the yacht is probably best displayed with a range of 4750nm at a passage speed of 15 knots. Imtech Marine Group at Monaco Yacht Show

Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe) announces that it is acting as technology partner of PlanetSolar, the largest ship powered by solar energy in the world. The ship is being officially exhibited today on the occasion of the 821st birthday of Hamburg’s harbour. In 2011, PlanetSolar will set sail on a world cruise of approximately 50,000 km, with the aim of promoting solar energy and the use of environmentally-conscious alternative fuel for sailing. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131151/image/large-7aa3562daa13e37c5e730379f74f0573.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131151">René van der Bruggen, CEO of Imtech: ‘Society is becoming increasingly sustainable and technology is playing a leading role in this process. The order for PlanetSolar and several other maritime initiatives have resulted in Imtech becoming a ‘green frontrunner’ in the global maritime market.’ High-tech catamaran covered by solar panels PlanetSolar is a high-tech 85-ton, 31-metre long and 15-metre wide catamaran, which is covered by 537 m2 of solar panels. The futuristic-looking ship is powered by two 10 kW electric motors. On board it has the world’s largest lithium-ion battery, with a power storage capacity of 2910 Ah and a weight of 11 tons. In total, PlanetSolar can travel 1,000 km without sunlight. PlanetSolar has a top speed of 14 knots (25 km/h) and can house around 40 guests. It produces zero environmental pollution and the ship moves noiselessly. The Knierim Shipyard together with HDW constructed the ship in Kiel, Germany. Energy promotion cruise around the world in 140 days PlanetSolar is an initiative of Swiss national Raphaël Domjan, president and skipper of the ship. Jean Verne, the great-grandson of Jules Verne is one of the project’s ‘godfathers’. This is the first ship to undertake a cruise around the world powered entirely by solar energy. The 50,000 km journey is expected to take 140 days at an average speed of 8 knots (15 km/h). The planned route is via the Atlantic Ocean, through the Panama Canal, across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and home via the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea. ‘Energy Consciousness Stops’ will be made amongst others in New York, San Francisco, Darwin, Hong Kong, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Marseilles. Exactly 150 years ago, Jan Jacob van Rietschoten put behind him his career as sea captain in the long-haul shipping trade and in 1860 started working as an independent stevedore in Rotterdam. From 1872 onwards the company, now under the name Van Rietschoten &amp; Houwens (R&amp;H), was always at the forefront of all of the latest technical advances produced by the industrial revolution. In 1888 the combination of electrical and mechanical solutions was applied for the first time. This still forms the basis of the success of the Imtech of today. R&amp;H was involved in countless technical innovations. Examples include the first electric public lighting (1888), the first telephone exchange (1901) and the first analogue computers for use in Dutch universities (1963). In 1967 Internatio acquired R&amp;H. Internatio (1863) and Müller (1878) - each with their own rich history - played deciding roles in the creation of Imtech. In 1970 they decided to merge, becoming Internatio-Müller N.V. The following period was characterised by a series of acquisitions. Around 1990 Internatio-Müller was a conglomerate of more than 100 companies, of which about 35 were specialists in technology, including R&amp;H. In 1993, these technical companies were grouped together to form Internatio-Müller Techniek, soon giving rise to the easier and more international sounding name of Imtech. Then in 1995 a strategic blueprint for Imtech was presented. This was expressed as a formula: Imtech = E + ICT + M, in other words, the combination of electrical engineering (E), information and communication technology (ICT) and mechanical engineering (M), which leads to total technical solutions with high added value. The blueprint sketched the ambition to create a complete column of technical services and thereby the design for the first European growth perspective. Imtech had arrived! From 7,000 to 23,000 employees During the years following 1995 the various Imtech companies increasingly collaborated. With the acquisition in 1996 of Turnkiek (an innovative software specialist), Imtech took its first steps on the path to 'the modern' ICT world. This was followed by the acquisition of ROM (Rudolph Otto Meyer) in 1997, making Imtech one of the strongest players in technical services provision in Germany. In 2000 Internatio-Müller decided to disinvest all the non-technological activities and to concentrate fully on one strategic core activity: technology. Internatio-Müller became Imtech in 2001 and this introduced an ambitious new company to be quoted on the Euronext stock market in Amsterdam. The years that followed were characterised by fast growth, both organic as well as by a large number of acquisitions. Imtech gained strong positions in Europe as well as in the global marine market. From the 7,000 employees (and revenue of 350 million euro) in 1993, Imtech has expanded to 23,000 employees in 2009 (with revenue of more than 4.3 billion euro). Imtech celebrates 150th anniversary

In August 2009, Radio Holland signed an agreement for the VSAT Ku-band footprint T11N. With this new footprint Radio Holland significantly improves its network for VSAT. The Telstar 11N is designed to be a Ku-band satellite with an Atlantic Ocean beam. This beam is very important for the shipping industry, sailing between North-America and Europe. Imtech Marine Group offers whole ship solutions at Monaco Yacht Show

Recently a special event took place at the Amels shipyard in Vlissingen. The first cables were pulled on board of an Amels new building superyacht, construction no. 6501. This vessel is one of the new Limited Editions Amels 212 series: a superyacht measuring more than 65 meters, with seven state-rooms, five decks, and innumerable rooms, ranging from the captain’s suite to magnificent VIP Suites, a master suite extending over the entire width of the vessel, and a dramatic “sky lounge”, a 200 m2 sundeck with a hot-tub, wet-feet bar, jet-stream pool, sky gym and “dining for twelve”. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127029/image/large-aaf30f49c652b01fec290beaa6a19ebf.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127029">Representatives of the management of both Imtech and Amels conducted the cable-pulling ceremony. It was the symbolic start of the work of Imtech on board the yacht and the unique partnership between Imtech and Amels. Specifically, it involved pulling a bow-thruster cable (38 m cable, 114 m total, 174.99 kg total) from the bow-thruster space to the main switchboard. Cable pulling is not an easy job: it requires a great deal of care; and the gentlemen did the job perfectly. After the diligent work, it was time for a festive conclusion for both the IM&amp;O and Amels project teams. Amels and Imtech celebrate partnership

Imtech Marine Group and Radio Holland Group announce that as per 1st January 2009, a new Radio Holland service location in the southern part of the United Kingdom has been established. The office of Imtech Marine &amp; Offshore in the UK will perform service activities for navigation and communication equipment, ‘trading as Radio Holland’. Radio Holland Group is a specialized company in the supply, installation, integration and service of maritime electronics and is also known as satellite airtime provider. The company employs more than 900 people worldwide in more than 60 own branches, strategically located along all major shipping routes. Radio Holland is a member of the Imtech Marine Group. Imtech Marine &amp; Offshore UK will, with direct support from Radio Holland, perform service activities from their service station in the Southampton area.
