Lantic Entertainment Systems has launched a new international sales strategy that will redirect its focus towards supporting the leading, professional AV system integrators around the world. This new approach will allow Lantic to extend its global reach while enabling it to devote more resources to providing support to owners, project managers and yards. Global Sales and Marketing Manager Peter Bouman explains: “After a detailed review of the worldwide market place for top-end marine audio-visual networks we have identified those electrical integrators that we believe have the expertise to install and configure complex, networked systems such as ours and which share our high standards of customer care, and invited them to become value-added resellers of the Lantic product. We in turn have ceased any direct sales activities but will instead support our resellers with a vigorous marketing campaign via advertising, publicity and exhibiting at the major superyacht and equipment shows. Lantic launches new international sales strategy

Lantic Entertainment Systems has released an iPhone / iPod WI‐FI Audio Centre (WAC) app that allows those onboard any yacht equipped with a Lantic Entertainment System to select and control music and other audio content in audio‐only zones via the integral wireless network. The WAC app can be downloaded in a few seconds from the iTunes store and gives instant access to all the music already stored on the Lantic Media Server. The Main Menu or Browsing screen shows the music content available and invites the user to make a selection. The Now Playing screen is easily accessed by pressing the ‘Now playing’ button in the upper right corner, and displays all the play and volume controls as well as allowing the user to create or modify playlists. As an added refinement, access can also be gained to the Player Command Centre via the Now Playing screen. This allows the user to view and control all the audio‐only players and zones connected to the server. If required, any WAC zone can be synchronised with a public playlist being played on the Lantic Entertainment Centre for a boat wide effect. “This advance means that all those guests that have iPhones or app‐capable iPods on board a Lantic yacht effectively have their own remote controls,” said Lantic product manager Peter Bouman. “This is convenient for both the crew and their guests, and reduces the rate at which dedicated remote controls get lost or unwittingly taken ashore in suitcases and bags. Lantic introduces the Wi-Fi Audio Centre

The new Modular Entertainment Centre (MEC) from Lantic Entertainment Systems, developer and manufacturer of integrated entertainment systems exclusively for luxury yachts, brings easier installation of multi‐zone entertainment systems to the superyacht yards, and a new level of stability, versatility and efficiency to yacht owners and operators. The MEC for the first time also allows owners to select their own amplifiers from their favourite manufacturers. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/135226/image/large-4dc4478aa35054253ed3c77e3ab5cb47.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/135226">Entertainment Centres form the core of the audio‐visual system in each individual zone ‐ be it a cabin, external deck or communal area. Installed out of sight, they receive commands from the remote controls that select and control the entertainment system components such as the central media server, satellite TV tuners, terrestrial feeds, Internet and other sources, and transmit them to the amplifiers, speakers and monitors. They also act as the relay point for external inputs such as disc drives, iPod drives and games consoles, and receive, process and transmit commands for the cabin control features, CCTV and other hotel functions. The new MEC from Lantic does all that and more, yet remarkably the unit itself is significantly smaller than earlier models. This has been achieved partly by reductions in component size and partly by removing the full sized amplifier that was fitted in the earlier units. A 2 x 10w amp is instead fitted in the new MEC for use as a slave unit in sub‐zones such as bathrooms, but in the main areas owners now select and connect independent amplifiers of their choice to create exactly the soundscape that they seek via reproduction standards ranging from stereo up to Dolby Surround 5.1, 7.1 and even 9.1. The MEC is fully compatible with all commercially‐manufactured amplifiers including those from top brands including NAD, Denon, Marantz and Dynaudio. This modular approach of splitting one unit into two or more provides the yards with new options as to how and where they install the equipment, as does the fact that the centres now give off less heat, thereby reducing the ventilation requirements, and can be mounted both vertically and horizontally. Additional benefits for the vessel and her occupants include the incorporation of a noiseless, solid‐state hard disc and reduced fan sound. The introduction of a stand‐by mode also minimises power consumption. New modular entertainment centre from Lantic

This week saw the first order for the new Lantic software 2011 Suite, launched at the start of April. The client is the owner of one of the world’s fastest superyacht, The World Is Not Enough, a 42 metre Frank Mulder designed superyacht that has a top speed of 68 knots and which is about to start an intermediate refit in Italy that will see her back in operation in time for the summer. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/134898/image/large-372fa3aa1bca393da3833382f23d471b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/134898">Over the course of just ten weeks Lantic will remove the previous entertainment installation by another manufacturer and fit a full Lantic system including a two terabyte central storage server, satellite tuners and 15 monitors across 14 zones. Each guest cabin and public area will additionally have its own dedicated multimedia processing unit allowing the connection of a Blu‐Ray/DVD player and iPod docks for the playback of personal discs and music, plus additional equipment such as games consoles. Control will be via both iPod Touch units from Apple and the iconic Lantic remote, together with wireless keyboards for Internet access. The HD monitors for the owner and guests are by Panasonic, Sanyo and Samsung, and the owner has specified his own audio speakers from top manufacturers MB Quart, Bowers &amp;Wilkins, Sonance and Velodyne. Crew cabins will be fitted with space‐saving Lantic All‐In‐One screens with built‐in speakers, DVD players and connections to the vessel’s central entertainment network. The World Is Not Enough will also be fully Wi‐Fi capable thanks to the Wi‐Fi being installed by AMN, enabling the use of laptops and smart phones anywhere on board. Another feature is the installation of a fully waterproof, 42‐inch Sanyo monitor on the upper aft deck, and of course the entire system will feature Lantic’s new, easy to use GUI (graphical user interface). AMN will also install TVRO and VSAT antennas for the satellite TV and broadband Internet. The yacht was built by Millennium Super Yachts in 2004, is driven by triple water jets and has accommodation for eight crew and ten guests. New user interface for Lantic

Lantic Entertainment Systems has appointed MAP Marine as its sales and service partner in France. Based in Marseille, MAP Marine is an experienced supplier and installer of electronics of all kinds and represents a large number of leading brands in the navigation, communications, systems monitoring and entertainment sectors. Lantic Premium system on board superyacht Bel Abri

Alewijnse Marine Systems, has announced the appointment of Jacco van der Stelt as its new commercial manager for Lantic Entertainment Systems. Lantic Entertainment  appoints distributors in Mallorca and the UAE

The results of an 18‐month project by the software engineers at Lantic Entertainment Systems have finally been released, revealing dramatic improvements in the quality of entertainment that can now be enjoyed as well as in the overall architecture of these sophisticated multi‐zone systems. The new software will be installed in all systems currently in build and owners of existing installations will be contacted by Lantic to discuss arrangements for their upgrades. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130707/image/large-a8eff829c3c69ff299ddacc368f380f3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130707">The new software represents a complete re‐engineering of the technological platform that underpins every Lantic system, and is designed to open a clear gap between Lantic and its competitors in terms of system stability, reliability and functionality. Many of the enhancements are likely to go unremarked by users – although they will undoubtedly enjoy the unrivalled speed and smoothness of operation – but others will offer dramatic benefits. Foremost of these is the long awaited introduction of streaming* Blu‐ray content. This breakthrough allows the uploading and storage of Blu‐ray movies on the system’s central server, from where viewers around the yacht can then select a film and watch it in full high‐definition whenever and wherever they choose. Major software upgrade for Lantic systems

Lantic Entertainment Systems, the leader in bespoke multi‐zone entertainment systems for yachts from 60ft up to the largest megayachts, has announced that 2010 has begun ended with sales expanding and the rate of enquiry significantly up on the same time last year. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/129894/image/large-2dd242f9a798f23f6568b122f9363830.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129894">2009 was a transformative year for Lantic. The company was bought by Dutch electrotechnical systems specialist Alweijnse Marine Systems in May, a change that brought with it new energy and resources. In August a new systems strategy saw the launch of the Pro and Premium systems, targeted respectively at the large production and custom superyacht segments, and not long after a wide‐ranging upgrade of the service and support structure. “In retrospect the timing of these changes was ideal,” says head of marketing David Milner. “As the market has begun to pick up over the past few months we have been in a position to offer a versatile and highly advanced product incorporating the latest advances in entertainment technology, together with an upgraded global support mechanism.” The benefits have been substantial, with the level of enquiries growing significantly in the last quarter of 2009 led by the large custom and semi‐custom yards. “We’ve had four solid enquires regarding yachts over 45‐metres in the past month alone,” added David Milner, “and are currently working on an installation on another of over 70‐metres.” The refit sector is also expected to provide a steady flow of orders over the medium term, together with new‐build business from long‐standing customers including Palmer Johnson, Holland Jachtbouw and Amels. Lantic starts 2010 on an optimistic note

Lantic Entertainment Systems has announced the appointment of David Milner to lead its new global sales and marketing initiative. David will continue to manage Marine AV – the exclusive UK distributor for Lantic – but will utilise his extensive experience in the sector to work with the Lantic management team to develop the worldwide sales and marketing strategy over the coming months, as well as help expand the global distribution network. Lantic appoints David Milner to lead global sales and marketing initiative

Lantic Entertainment Systems has appointed Søren Østergaard as its new general manager with immediate effect. Søren has extensive experience in the project management and production of entertainment systems, including seven years with Bang &amp; Olufsen. He also has over 20 years’ experience in the design and installation of sound and light systems for discotheques and public buildings. Lantic appoints new General Manager

Lantic has seen its Premium system installed on a succession of yachts from the 52m 171 Limited Editions series designed by Tim Heywood and built at the Dutch superyacht yard Amels. The latest to be launched is hull 455, the fifth in the series, which took to the water earlier this year.The system that Lantic specified for her allows for a total of 21 independent zones, all with access to the same central server loaded with movies and music. This particular system also integrates with a state‐of‐the‐art McIntosh audiovisual system for the highest presentation standards of both sound and visual in the main areas.Further enhancements include integration with a total of nine CCTV cameras as well as the lighting and air‐conditioning systems, allowing full control of the local environment in each zone via the Lantic remote control.Lantic systems can be found across a range of the Amels 171 Limited Editions superyachts launched in recent years, including <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/25" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">Deniki</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/27" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">Were Dreams</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/90" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">Lady Nag Nag</a>, and subsequent models <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1306" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">456</a>,<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2444" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">457</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2445" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">458</a> currently in build are also due to have Lantic Premium systems installed.

Latest Amels 171 showcases Lantic System

Lantic Entertainment Systems will reveal this autumn the latest developments in the evolution of its market leading entertainment technology. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/128457/image/large-28d0e06bb4817698c950fdf7b7c257c3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/128457">Visitors to the Cannes, Southampton and Monaco Yacht Shows will be the first to experience the Premium and Pro systems, and will have the opportunity to discuss with product experts from Lantic and its distributors the merits of both systems and determine which is best suited for their yachts. Lantic Premium has been re‐engineered exclusively for large superyachts. It will feature one of the most powerful servers afloat which, together with ultra high‐specification hardware, will enable a single system to supply music, movies, satellite TV, Internet and more to up to 100 individual locations on board a single vessel. Cat‐6 (HD ready) cabling will ensure that the vast amounts of data involved move around the vessel instantaneously and without interference, and controlled via the world renowned Lantic remote control. Lantic Pro will provide the same range of content with the same clarity and simplicity as the Premium version, but with a capability to service a maximum of eight individual locations it is intended for yachts from 50 to 120 feet. As a result the server and supporting hardware and cabling can be more compact as the demands upon them are less intense. Both versions will incorporate the latest software to ensure that the systems are trouble‐free and operate smoothly in all conditions. Visitors to the Lantic stands will also be able to find out more about the latest enhancements to the Lantic worldwide service package, including remote diagnostics.
