Following the purchase of EsSense AI, SYT has unveiled a teaser for the new YachtEye.

Established more than 30 years ago, Carol Driessen founded <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4711" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vyva Fabrics (Company)">Vyva Fabrics</a> to supply high-quality fabrics and artificial leather, predominantly to the yachting industry. Today the company has grown to the top of its game, with an estimated 80 percent of the Dutch market share for superyacht fabrics and having expanded into the flooring sector as well, offering flexiteek and nautifloor among other vinyls. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/210777/image/large-b526ad5ebaea019382114a5e8e41d103.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/210777">As one of the early entrepreneurs in the industry to recognise the importance of sustainability to the industry, Driessen began to look at alternative options for fabrics more than a decade ago. In 2019 the first fruits of this labor were unveiled with the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4711" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vyva Fabrics (Company)">Vyva</a> Hemp Collection, a line of upholstery fabrics made of extremely strong and durable hemp fibres, dyed in a selection of elegant and soft colours. The collection was also launched in five different themes with matching textures and one of the most impressive features of the line is that all of the fabrics are waterproof and stain free. It was then that the team started to consider truly recycled materials with a deep commitment to a reduction of emissions within the entire life cycle of the product. The collection is flame retardant and, like the Hemp Collection, can be used internally and externally and is bleach and water resistant.Produced in Europe the materials have a verified supply chain and save 94 percent of the water normally used, 64 percent of the energy and decreases 32 percent of CO2 emissions thanks to its innovative production process.&nbsp;For Driessen, sustainability and the innovations they have uncovered with this new line is the future of the industry and a direction that they will continue to heavily invest. The RAI Amsterdam has just announced plans for the METSTRADE exhibition 2021, set to go ahead from 16th - 18th November. METSTRADE is the world’s largest exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international leisure marine industry.
