(Company)">Barracuda Yacht Design</a> have partnered up for a brand new motor yacht series, available in three size iterations: 27.4-metre, 35-metre and a 30.5-metre model.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/245678/image/large-4ea0a4868d9ff85999bbea2c2fff9945.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/245678">The first unit presented to the market is the 30.5-metre, and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1712" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monte Fino (Company)">Monte Fino</a> expects to release the other iterations in the near future. The series as a whole has been designed by the Spain-based studio <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/464" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barracuda Yacht Design Ltd. (Company)">Barracuda Yacht Design</a>, with intensive customer research and input from the US dealer, Olson Yacht Group. The result, as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/464" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barracuda Yacht Design Ltd. (Company)">Barracuda Yacht Design</a>, writes, “is a market-friendly design, where significant use of glass offers either long-windows styling, or short- rectangular window alternatives, for a more classic look and feel.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/245679/image/large-f8eb943c24c2bcf1da09e26f6e3912d7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/245679">The series promises plenty of volume and a sturdy, ocean-going hull that’s both smooth and efficient. The general arrangement is incredibly versatile, and the middle unit will be able to accommodate as many as 12 guests – making her an ideal charter vessel. Some of her standout features include a convertible aft deck dining area that can be enjoyed open or closed. The 25.29-metre yacht Abou Maya has been sold in Morocco thanks to Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage. 

Based in Sydney Harbour, the 37.19-metre motor yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2972" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Masteka 237.19m (122'0&quot;)Monte Fino2009">Masteka 2</a> was sold after 670 days on the market with Joachim Howard at Ocean Alliance representing the seller and Ryan Leigh-Smith of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5148" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Leigh-Smith Yachts (Company)">Leigh Smith Yachts</a> representing the buyer. Sold: 37m Monte Fino yacht Masteka 2 

The Monte Fino yacht, Masteka 2, has been sold for a last known asking price of $9,955,000 AUD.

The owners of the recently destroyed superyacht Barbie have been paid a total of $20,000,000 from a group of 14 Lloyd’s insurers, Hiscox MGA has recently announced. She was destroyed at the beginning of 2016 in January, whilst moored in a marina in the Turkish town of Marmaris.

	“Barbie is the largest claim that the superyacht insurance market has had to deal with in quite some time. That it was paid in full within 60 days of the event will hopefully help the owner to reach closure from this traumatic incident,” says Paul Miller, Hiscox MGA’s Director of Underwriting. “It is pleasing that we could resolve this claim so speedily, as we, and our insurance partners, pride ourselves on our technical expertise and customer service.” 
	 
	Built by the UAE shipyard Al Jadaf in 2006, Barbie was insured through Yachtsure24, which represents both Lloyd’s and A-rated European carriers. Talbot syndicate led Barbie’s insurance policy, along with 13 other insurers. 
	 
	The iconic 71.05 metre Bannenberg designed vessel The One was also destroyed in the same fire in Turkey, sparking the beginning of a string of unfortunate superyacht casualties so far in 2016. This includes the Princess 95 Queen Anna also in Turkey in January, the Benetti superyacht Camarina Royale in Cuba, three 30+ metre vessels at the beginning of March in Abu Dhabi, and the Monte Fino motor yacht Positive Energy which was destroyed by a fire is St. Thomas just last week.

Owners of destroyed superyacht Barbie paid $20,000,000

The tranquil Caribbean island of St. Thomas was the scene of a devastating disaster when the 25.6 metre Monte Fino motor yacht Positive Energy burst out in flames. Being a popular tourist destination that forms part of the U.S. Virgin Islands meant that the entire event was well documented by onlookers as the fire on board spread from the upper deck, soon engulfing the entire superstructure.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but it is known that no casualties were reported as a result of the fire.

She’s a modern eco-friendly motor yacht with the capability of an explorer yacht for long-range cruising. Designed to be efficient at displacement and semi-displacement regimes, the ecHo series are optimized to reduce the fuel consumption and emissions. Powered by the latest generation of twin 715hp Cummins engines, she had a top speed of 16.5 knots with a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of nearly 4,000 nautical miles at 8.6 knots. These are all better than originally estimated. The first ecHo also comes with Twin Disc transmission and QuickShift function. She can be easily maneuvered and docked with Twin Disc EJS (Express Joystick System). Kha Shing completes first Monte Fino 85 ecHo superyacht

Kha Shing, the superyacht yard based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan that builds the Monte Fino range of motoryachts, has announced that it has upgraded its facilities to allow it to build yachts up to 44 metres (144 feet) in length. Superyacht Picnic joins Ocean Independence charter fleet

Kha Shing launches new Monte Fino 100 RPH superyacht

Setzer Design Group has announced the premier of "VL-56," another futuristic design from its Vision Line of projects taking shape this time for a Dubai based client. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130187/image/large-0f17423f92ffae0e51f0c95541b40124.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130187">This new design, a 56-meter superyacht named Naranja, debuts as a refined and streamlined expression of the studio's finest work. Both the hull and its superstructure have been sculpted as a blend of long lines and crisp edges, resulting in what the designer hopes will be received above all else as an elegant and proper superyacht. The result is a vessel of five deck levels plus large below-waterline holds and systems spaces. With a beam of 10.6M and a draft of 2.7M, the design is meant for fast cruising in style and comfort, carrying plenty of fuel and water stores as well as generous cabins for owners and guests on multiple levels. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130188/image/large-8760594e922b0b66830da88f9d501b46.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130188">The design will be powered by a high performance diesel drive system capable of cruising speeds from 12 to 16 knots at a maximum speed of 18 knots. A large infinity pool deck has been included aft with large exterior entertaining areas just forward. A cabana has been located on the transom with dockage doors deploying aft and to starboard, adding to vessel conveniences. Duel tender garages have been integrated into the raised bow deck bulwarks with a helicopter deck above. The unique styling of the design revolves around four large guest staterooms forward, just below the main deck, each having its own private balcony to the sea. A master suite is included on the upper two decks in a split -level fashion with the bedroom forward and a private owner's sitting room and sun deck, complete with hot tub, aft of that. The vessel also features a gym, spa, two galley areas, multiple sunning areas, and a host of other amenities. There are five large guest cabins below decks, fully serviced by crew access. For the crew, Naranja can accommodate 15 forward in seven cabins plus one pilot's and one dedicated engineer's cabin aft in the Laz. space, as well as all typical crew lounge, galley and utility areas, including walk-in refrigerator and freezer units. The interior style and outfitting is all about clean-lines and rich woods outlining lighter fabrics. The exterior decks include multiple private and public areas plus multiple seating areas, bars, grills, and more. "This, project started out quite a bit larger and then has come along to take shape as a more refined thoroughbred of sorts," said yacht architect Ward Setzer, principal of Setzer Design Group. "The final result is uniquely outfitted with all the owner required and more and yet strives to stay pure in form and function." The Setzer studio also has been continuing to diversify its offerings and deepening of its brand within Asian markets. Since receiving its fourth yacht design contract in Mainland China and its third within Taiwan -- all within the past 18 months. Setzer is currently in the planning stages of opening new offices in Hong Kong later this year. Setzer Design Group unveils 56m and 34m superyacht designs

Monte Fino Europe has announced that it sold a custom 30.5m semi‐displacement luxury superyacht at the 2010 London International Boat Show and in addition received a number of good quality enquiries during the course of the ten day event. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130081/image/large-bdc27e35e9b7ce1dbb1b8eb14e469950.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130081">A number of the larger new‐style Monte Finos in the 96 to 100ft range have now been sold since the recent restyling of the entire range was completed by Humphreys Yacht Design. This one will be delivered to its European buyer from the Kha Shing yard later on next year and will have accommodation for eight guests, plus four crew in separate quarters aft of the engine room. Kha Shing Enterprise Co. The MFS 112 addresses traditional yachting needs with a new and refined style. With plenty of volume to accommodate ample fuel and water stores, it has three spacious guest staterooms and one master suite across two levels while the crew cabins and lounge are located aft of the engine room. A galley and open lounge are positioned forward on the main deck, and a generous saloon and dining area are situated aft of the central bridge zone. An oversized main aft deck is an important feature of the design with ample space for entertaining and relaxation. The flybridge is multi‐level and includes seating, a bar, grill and hot tub amenities. The interior can also be customised according to the wishes of the owner.
