Seen here departing St Maarten is the 73-metre Spanish-built superyacht Naia, previously known as Pegaso. Freire Shipyard in Vigo launched her in 2011 and she remains the largest yacht to have been built in Spain till this day. She is designed by H2 Yacht Design and Moore Yacht Design as a rugged research vessel and top operate as a luxury yacht. Her expedition capabilities include a five-person submarine, an enormous fully certified helipad, and offers an incredible 10,000 nm range while cruising at 12 knots. Naia has since returned to the Mediterranean where she will spend her summer season.

Classed as a research vessel and operating as a luxury yacht, the 73-metre superyacht Naia remains the largest yacht to have been built in Spain when she was launched at the Freire Shipyard in Vigo in 2011 as Pegaso. Her R/V status allows Naia to carry a five-person submarine, an enormous fully certified helipad and offers an incredible 10,000 nm range while cruising at 12 knots. The British design offices of H2 Yacht Design and Moore Yacht Design worked together on the design of the yacht. Naia recently arrived in Singapore where she is moored at Keppel Bay Marina.

Superyachts in West Palm Beach 

U.K based design studio Moore Yacht Design has revealed its’ latest offering in a 70m motor yacht. The exterior lines are drawn to be modern yet still be timeless so the yacht will still look fresh in years to come. It has a unique shape but is not too radical. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/146441/image/large-1a67c8d112d18a8178c50a8a9b2e2d91.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/146441">The defining features of the exterior are the dramatic shoulders that run from the aft end of the yacht and leap forward creating a sense of movement. The shape of the superstructure above this serves to further emphasise this feeling. Externally there are large seating areas on the upper deck and on the sundeck which also has an alfresco dining area and a jacuzzi /sun bed area at the forward end.Internally the general arrangement features 2 double and 2 twin cabins on the lower deck,a vip cabin on the main deck and a spacious owner’s cabin forwards featuring a walk through wardrobe leading to a large bathroom. Yesterday we published Moore Yacht Design's recently unveiled 90 metre superyacht design. Today we can show you a 40 metre sailing sloop, an innovative and refreshing break away from the traditional sailing yacht, and, the first sailing yacht to be revealed by Moore Yacht Design. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/142390/image/large-5d79020880a128bc1ee2dec60c31fffa.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/142390">It represents a new generation, crisp, sailing yacht with its' simple surfaces accentuated with imaginative detail and much of the design features influenced by nature .Andy Moore has incorporated distinctive forms which fit comfortably together to create the unique surfaces demonstrated in this sloop concept. Inspired by the cheetah, the form of the hull towards the aft end has elegant haunches, creating the impression of movement, even when the yacht is stationary. The total length of the yacht is accentuated by these lines continuing and wrapping over the bow of the yacht, creating an impression of length. The yacht's powerful sails, fittingly, are inspired by nature. It was the similarity of watching the effortless flight of insects moving through the air to the manner in which ocean going yachts move through the water which led to the development of the unique pattern on the sails mirroring that of an insect's wing. The inspiration for the sleek, stepped, glass panelled areas came from the armadillo with its' bony plates covering its' back, head, legs and tail. Andy believes it gives a " glowing" look to the surface of the yacht and that the design allows for the interior of the yacht to take full advantage of the natural light and the spectacular ocean views. Continuing with the animal theme the side windows give the impression of a wild animal looking at you. Situated in the aft of the lower deck is a very spacious, full beam owner's suite, with three additional guest suite cabins arranged with one forward and the remaining two farther aft. The garage for the tender is located at the aft end. Once the tender is removed the area converts into an attractive beach club. Nature inspired 40 metre superyacht design by Moore Yacht Design

Andy Moore of Moore Yacht Design recently unveiled a new 90 metre superyacht design. This assertive design features several innovative ideas, such as the full beam main salon leading to an entrance on the main aft deck, which is intended as an exterior entrance as well as a viewing area. The aft end of the upper and main decks feature decking which runs from the deck, over the edge and down the vertical superstructure, giving the yacht a fresh new look. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/142358/image/large-adb3f5ad498bb4fd920d0113a8b95452.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/142358">The main exterior areas are located on the upper and bridge deck levels, which provide guests with a great level of privacy. The main exterior dining and lounging areas are located aft, whilst on the large foredeck features a swimming pool. The sun deck offers more sun beds and a jacuzzi. The robust lines of the exterior are a move away from the traditional ‘wedding cake look’ as seen on many other yachts this size. The Research Vessel (RV) Pegaso just made her debut in Monaco and gave the world a glimpse into her Global Mission for Marine Conservation. Her oceanographic capabilities are impressive: 5-person Diver Lockout submarine, Ice Class notation, fully commercial helipad, 10,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, Dynamic Positioning, wet/dry laboratory, and separate scientist quarters. The fourth yacht built for her experienced Owner, RV Pegaso is set to begin her marine science and exploration activities in the Mediterranean this summer and then head to the Pacific, via the Caribbean, in 2013. The vessel has partnered with Ocean Preservation Alliance (OPA) to assist in her unique vision of supporting the important work of restoring and preserving our oceans. During expeditions, RV Pegaso plans to study and explore protected marine reserves normally off limits to regular yachts. Expeditions on RV Pegaso are perfectly suited for special individuals that are looking for added adventure and purpose above a standard yacht holiday. Due to her particular future endeavours as an RV, her layout is slightly different from a more regular superyacht of comparable size. This is mainly the result of internal submarine bay, science laboratory, wet lab, and documentary production areas. Apart from the owner's quarters, which span an entire “penthouse” private deck with fore and aft terraces, offices and dramatic 360 degrees panoramic views, her five guest staterooms (one VIP Suite, four doubles/twin suite) can be found on the main deck, fore of the deck's central lobby.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139331/image/large-3e40ab83c9d2bf7cdb1639599f043966.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139331">This lobby is situated around the central spiraling staircase which connects all decks. The owner's deck can also be reached by use of an elevator, leading from the sun/helicopter deck below. The aft portion of the main deck has been reserved as submarine bay. With RV Pegaso's lower deck being mainly reserved for crew cabins, laundry room, galley, and engine and machinery control rooms, interior guest living areas and accommodations are situated on the main and upper decks.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139332/image/large-36745d7ff55a21f3487eb8921b0212db.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139332">The aft section of the bridge deck houses her large interior lounge and dining rooms, with additional casual seating and bar areas. The former also functions as a fully equipped cinema. Mark Berryman’s interior design feels both extravagantly luxurious and soothingly calm.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139334/image/large-f0546409163ba2a672b645f711b605b4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139334">The main sitting area area, a large U-shaped setup of light modern sofas around a set of large contemporary minimal table pieces, is inviting and intimate. The flooring is an absolute eyecatcher, consisting of wide strips of chocolate-coloured leather braided together to form an intricately patterned yet modern carpeting. This space was designed for a large company and is large without losing a sense of warmth. The colour palette is based on soothing dark browns of leather and light beige-brown tints of the woods and natural stone used for floors, wall paneling, ceilings and cabinets. A small game table can also be found here. With an intricate yet natural lighting scheme, the whole room is bound together into an atmosphere of contemporary hospitality. The saloon's main dining table is a friendly setting of a round central table with plush, modern dining chairs dividing this space from the lounging area by a set of low cabinets, creating a separate room yet leaving the luxurious sense of space intact.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139335/image/large-0a9f989817dddc9b2c5a2dda1f2eba1b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139335">The dining setting being situated starboard, leaves the port side for a second, smaller sitting area with a small bar. With the added artworks, both paining and sculptural, the character of the saloon feels like very well balanced but also pleasantly eclectic, like a collection of materials, furnishing and collectibles that have been gathered throughout the world yet blend remarkably well together with regards to shape and colour. Varying from intricately detailed, lifelike sculptures of animals to colourful, abstract paintings and tribal tapestries, art onboard RV Pegaso is as diverse and rich as will be her future expeditions. On the aft deck, a large al fresco dining area can be found, including a buffet, casual lounging arrangement and an additional bar.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139336/image/large-dcad6d357bfd44142cf353a50a9bb09b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139336">RV Pegaso's main deck guest cabins are all situated adjacent to one long corridor leading forward from the central lobby. This space is simple, modern and elegant with visual lines enhanced by woodworks in the walls, floors and ceilings. Here too, a collection of intriguing artwork can be found, silently welcoming guests on their way to their stateroom.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139337/image/large-678233acb1589efa0bdc99378b4dac63.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139337">All these staterooms have been fitted with luxurious en-suites and are designed in the familiarly welcoming style also found in the upper deck saloon. Being located on the main deck, views from all cabins are simply outstanding. Combining wood, bamboo and natural stone, all in a balanced warm colour palette, in a design that is minimal with ample amounts of detailing, texture and smart design elements, undoubtedly leaves guests with a sense of soothing comfort yet feeling invited to explore. This is key to RV Pegaso's design scheme and, inevitably, to her goal as a vessel: to unobtrusively and comfortably explore. Staterooms and en suite bathrooms are light, spacious and perfectly private. Using details of stainless steel and wide mirrors in the bathrooms enhances a sense of cleanliness and space, a perfect ambiance for daily rituals.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139338/image/large-4a026e3478f4195981e3bab586840706.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139338">RV Pegaso's sun/helicopter deck is an epitome of spacious luxury, with fore and aft sundecks. The aft sundeck, which doubles as the vessel's helicopter pad, is a lush full beam area with plenty of space for loose furniture and sun loungers. The owner's saloon is based around a modern, L-shaped sofa with rectangular, leather-clad table piece on starboard side, and an office area portside. Through the central lobby, connecting the penthouse deck with the lower sun deck by staircase and private elevator, the master stateroom can be reached. And stately this area is, with truly magnificent surrounding views and and a round skylight right above the grand bed. Looking up at the skies from here during a night of one of RV Pegaso's endeavours must be simply striking. The recently delivered 73 metre superyacht Pegaso

Moore yacht design have been approached by Pegaso Marine, - the operators of the Pegaso fleet and the company behind R.V – to produce some new exterior design proposals utilising the Pegaso platform. R.V. Pegaso, which was produced by Freire Shipyard in Spain, was born out of the requirements of a seasoned owner, who wanted a World Class vessel with which to travel the oceans. The vessel is to be as comfortable exploring the Amazon Delta as it would be in the Cote d'Azur, with a tank capacity of 10,000 miles at a reasonable 14 knots cruising speed. This would allow Pegaso to travel to places away from civilization for days on end. ICE class, dynamic positioning, commercially certified helipad, 5-person submarine and 4 tenders all add to the truly "go anywhere" capabilities. The vessel moves the styling away from the stereotype inelegant boxy exploration vessel into a unique more elegant “yacht like” shape. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/136765/image/large-939dffd73c5e0ff3fc483c9e3aeb762a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/136765">Andy Moore of Moore Yacht Design carried out the initial phase of exterior design on the original vessel whilst working at H2 Yacht Design and was subsequently asked by Pegaso Marine to finish off the original design after leaving H2 and setting up his own studio. It was therefore a natural progression for Moore Yacht Design to be asked to produce some new exterior designs building on the previous successful working relationship. Showcased here are two different styles of design, based on the 73m platform, the first being a triangular faceted form giving the yacht a muscular masculine feel.
