30 YEARS ALONG THE PATH OF VERSATILE YACHT DESIGN
Founded in 1985, Nauta Design started its activity as a shipyard whose building quality, design vision and unmistakable style were immediately welcomed by a large crowd of passionates. Their debut sailing yachts, Nauta 54’, 70’ and 65’ semi-custom series, were at the same time characterized by innovation and timeless elegance.
For the past 20 years Nauta Design has grown up a solid reputation as sailing yacht designer, by collaborating with top naval architects such as Bruce Farr, Reichel/Pugh and Doug Peterson, and recently Judel Vrolijk and Roberto Biscontini. By working with the naval architect that best suits the client’s needs, Nauta combines their unique blend of style and functionality with performance technology that comes straight from the top racing boats. Through these collaborations Nauta Design set into his own category. It is difficult indeed to find yachts that so successfully match aesthetic, functions and performance.
Nauta have been involved in motor yachts some 20 years ago with a charming 40’ custom made sport fishing boat. 13 years later started her course in the wide ocean of the superyacht design: "We were lucky to start with the request of an 80 metre, with moderate volumes and moreover with the possibility to open large glass surface on each superstructure of each deck. We called her Light, with the double meaning of brightness and lightness. We crowned our experience in the superyacht field with 180m Project Azzam.
The red line linking these two extremes is our philosophy based on balance and cleanliness of lines, seamless inside/outside connection and harmony, developed and adjusted to very different sizes and typologies, from lobster boats to explorer vessel, to mega yachts."
Matching the owners desires and requirements - interior spaces and outline shape - and encasing them in a theoretical contour, then becoming their yacht, Nauta Design spreads an endless versatility to the most various typologies with the common character of elegance made of simplicity.
