On her decks, the coamings widen in the aft part of the cockpit allowing a further outboard position for the steering stations, while still maintaining good helm protection. Jan-Erik “Janne” Nyfelt, one of the original founders of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baltic Yachts (Company)">Baltic Yachts</a>, passed away last Saturday, 28 January, according to a statement by the shipyard issued today. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/256482/image/large-8f134394d5627283c831c05ad75be361.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/256482">“<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baltic Yachts (Company)">Baltic Yachts</a> lost a person that has contributed greatly to what <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baltic Yachts (Company)">Baltic Yachts</a> is today,” the Scandinavian boatbuilder stated in a press release. “A great loss for the company and for me personally the loss of a person, a friend, that I have held in extremely high regards and that has been an enormous support for me through all my years in the yachting industry.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/256483/image/large-b8b917288738d0808752b97519e1b809.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/256483">Jan-Erik Nyfelt began working on boats from a very young age, supporting his father's small boat building shop. He then was one of the 5 people who founded <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baltic Yachts (Company)">Baltic Yachts</a> and was a very active member in both the management and development of the company until his retirement.“Janne was a person that had a never-ending energy, always intensively involved in many things. Very keen on developing new materials and methods that could improve the product.
