<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a> has delivered the 29.71-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bella29.71m (97'6&quot;)YYachts 2022">Bella</a>, which was built by Michael Schmidt Yachtbau. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bella29.71m (97'6&quot;)YYachts 2022">Bella</a> is the first unit from the Y9 series and, like all <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYacht</a> builds, she’s constructed out of carbon fibre to sharpen her competitive edge.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/250380/image/large-43a7101e96c8c47b82521d1c7671b12a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/250380"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bella29.71m (97'6&quot;)YYachts 2022">Bella</a> features an exterior design and naval architecture penned by Bill Tripp of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tripp Design Naval Architects (Company)">Tripp Design</a>, who explained that the overarching principle that headed the design brief of the Y9 series was ease of use. “We have designed a boat that can comfortably be sailed by a few people. Equipped with a self-tacking jib, hydraulic furling code sail and staysail, these boats can sail well in blue water and in the worst conditions and have light air performance to attract the keenest of sailors.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/250379/image/large-300f13c4134f7303cf91e0186166239a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/250379">Bill Tripp was in good company for this project as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5974" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Norm Architects (Company)">Norm Architects</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/329" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Design Unlimited (Company)">Design Unlimited</a> were both involved, overseeing <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bella29.71m (97'6&quot;)YYachts 2022">Bella</a>’s interior layout and design. Thanks to her transversely arranged tender garage in the stern – which carries her YTender catamaran – <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12327" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bella29.71m (97'6&quot;)YYachts 2022">Bella</a> has an envious volume and even has a separate owner’s apartment complete with an office, dressing room, bedroom and a bathroom with double wash basins. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/250363/image/large-22122aa42a90e61f9100a92c83910415.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/250363"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/250364/image/large-b771a9a8129747c20b9ea6aaff8379aa.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/250364">The design theme has been described as ‘soft minimalism’ and inspired by the simplicity of Scandinavian elegance. Oiled oak and grey fabrics are the core focal points, and are what drive the colour palette.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/250391/image/large-2c600f29756ca686f4c71371d6865efe.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/250391">"The Y9 already follows the award-winning Y7 in its design, but is much more complex and goes deeper,” Katrine Goldstein, Managing Director of N<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5974" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Norm Architects (Company)">orm Architects</a>, explained. “The Y9 will also be a luxurious retreat to get away from the constant stimulation that our everyday lives bring. To support an overall exclusive look and feel throughout the interior, only essential yet thoughtful, luxurious bespoke elements take up space where needed, to achieve a pared back interior with room for the life lived within. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/250377/image/large-05bf8adfb9a22ae0a18a91ab93f50b28.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/250377">The wooden, panelled walls and curved interior elements in oak add a warm, organic feel to the space, while optically stretching the space vertically to make the rooms appear more spacious. The Germany shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a> is set to unveil a new model at this year's <a href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cannes Yachting Festival - 2022">Cannes Yachting Festival</a>. The new models is the 27.4-metre Y9, which will make its world premier moored at the Port Canto exhibition area in Cannes. The yacht is the shipyard's new flagship created in collaboration with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tripp Design Naval Architects (Company)">Bill Tripp Design</a>, exterior, and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5974" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Norm Architects (Company)">Norm Architects</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/329" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Design Unlimited (Company)">Design Unlimited</a>, interior. With a length of 27.40-metres, the Y9 presents the same volume of a 30 metre yacht with a private owners’ apartment to offer maximum privacy, comfortable guest cabins and a large and flexible crew area.The yacht has been built entirely from carbon fibre, optimising performance and making her a competitive racer. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a> founder Michael Schmidt says: "With her length of 90 feet, the yacht has a good rating and with her interesting sail plan she is for sure able to win some trophies at the St Barths Bucket, the Superyacht Cup or the Maxi Rolex Cup".The owner also wanted to have a noise free yacht at anchor. Therefore <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a> used solar panels at the sunroof plus hydro drives so that there is no need to use the generator at night.The yacht's interiors have a simple Scandinavian style, following the principles of "soft minimalism" and the main material is smoked oak. &nbsp;

The exteriors come from the drawing boards of Bill Tripp of the American studio <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tripp Design Naval Architects (Company)">Tripp Design Naval Architects</a> while the interiors are a collaboration between <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5974" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Norm Architects (Company)">Norm Architects</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/329" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Design Unlimited (Company)">Design Unlimited</a>.&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a> founder Michael Schmidt says, "With her length of 90 feet, the yacht has an interesting rating and is for sure able to win some trophies at the St Barths Bucket, the Superyacht Cup or the Maxi Rolex Cup".According to Michael Schmidt, several discussions with various superyacht owners were influential for the development of the Y9, "Actually, customers were interested in 100 feet in length. However, from this size upwards - in my experience - yachts become disproportionately expensive because many custom-built components have to be installed. With our expertise, we have therefore implemented the comfort of a 100-foot yacht on a length of 90 feet. People are increasingly orienting themselves towards nature: taking from nature and giving back to nature. The interiors designed by the two studios have a "soft minimalist" theme with oiled oak and grey fabrics throughout. The crew areas have been designed to be larger than the norm, with additional storage space and a crew lounge made available. The multi-purpose crew areas allow for the captain’s cabin to also be used as the crew lounge during the day.&nbsp;
