On 30 April, the 28.08-metre yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6900" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Going Coastal 28.08m (92'2&quot;)Paragon Motor Yachts2006">Going Coastal</a> sunk 9 miles off the coast of Monterey Bay, California. The US Coast Guard rescued two crew members who made a mayday call at approximately 11:45 via VHF-FM channel 16, reporting their yacht was taking on water approximately 35 miles south of Monterey. &nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/119043/image/large-069642211eb652c791513866b4fa3523.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/119043">The Official U.S. Coast Guard 11th District Pacific Southwest released a statement of the events following the crew's mayday call:Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders issued an urgent marine-information broadcast, dispatched a Coast Guard Station Monterey 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew and diverted a Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco Dolphin helicopter crew to assist. &nbsp;The Going Coastal crew followed up that the flooding was under control prompting the Coast Guard to cancel the Dolphin crew. &nbsp;<iframe width="710" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8BcxprK6hP4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe>The RB-M crew arrived on scene at approximately 1:30 p.m., assessed the situation, transferred a crewmember and dewatering pump to the yacht and began escorting the ship toward Monterey Bay.&nbsp;Around 3:45 p.m., the crew noticed the rate of flooding had increased and the Coast Guard dispatched a Dolphin crew to assist. SkyMaster also features Paragon’s new “Bahamas Cockpit” design – a large tiered mezzanine and cockpit area aft of the main salon intended as a grand entertainment platform.The SkyMaster was built at Paragon’s Kaohsiung, Taiwan-based shipyard, American Pacific Boatworks. SkyMaster also features Paragon’s new “Bahamas Cockpit” design – a large tiered mezzanine and cockpit area aft of the main salon intended as a grand entertainment platform.Designed specifically to tow a large center console, SkyMaster features integrated tow line stowage on the interior port and starboard sides of the cockpit. Another unique feature is the dedicated, USCG-compliant and RINA-certified, 1125 litre gasoline tank and pump designated for fueling the center console and/or tender on extended excursions.Within an interior designed by Marty Lowe, SkyMaster comfortably accommodates 8 guests in three king staterooms, a fourth queen-size stateroom and an additional bunk, and includes accommodation for a captain and 3 additional crew members.The SkyMaster is currently in build at Paragon’s Kaohsiung, Taiwan-based shipyard, American Pacific Boatworks. She will conduct sea trials in August and debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2014.
