There are several individuals passing judgement on what may or may not have happened and we will attempt to offer some clarity, albeit at an early stage of the investigation. Our reputation is second to none and we will not have it tarnished by unqualified individuals passing judgement without facts in hand. I will add that I am disappointed that confidential photographs were leaked to the media.We were informed of the loss of a yacht from the deck of the MV Brattingsborg at approximately 0400hr LT on 26th May 2019. As of 0900hr BST on 28th May 2019, the salvage attempts are still ongoing. I will add that this is the initial assessment and is subject to confirmation in due course.As a leading yacht transporter for the past 40 years we take great pride in what we do and go above and beyond all standard operating procedures to ensure safe transit of all yachts carried by us. We have procedures in place to respond to this kind of incident, although we hope that they are never required.This incident is more than regrettable, however, the transport of yachts on cargo vessels continues to be one of the safest and most cost-effective solutions when carried out by a reputable company such as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/817" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Peters & May Ltd (Company)">Peters &amp; May</a>.More information will be made available in due course but in the meantime, I request that everyone respects the sensitivity of this issue to all parties concerned.

The Miami leg of the 16th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster drew to a close yesterday in Florida, marking another successful edition of the event. Hosted at the Eden Roc hotel in the heart of Miami Beach from 6th to 7th April, guests enjoyed a full day of workshops regarding some of the most important issues facing superyacht captains and owner’s representative in the industry today.

The first day saw event partners and sponsors AWLGrip, Boero YachtCoatings, Jotun, Peninsula Petroleum, Peters&amp;May Superyachts, Team Italia, Versilia Marine Service, Viraver, Butch Kemp Designs, Fraser Yachts, SLAM, Refit 3 Yacht Refit Service and Naiad Dynamics, take part in a fun speed dating exercise, in which the partners were given the opportunity to meet and greet participants before introducing the company and services.

 

Harald van Exem, Director Yacht Services Worldwide at Fraser Yachts then kicked off a series of workshops with a presentation regarding the complexities of marine insurance and finding the added value in insurance packages. This was followed by an important overview and breakdown of reading yacht certificates from Clive McCartney, Senior Manager Yacht Services at Fraser Yachts.

The event was the final installment of three Yachtmaster conferences, the first of which took place in Asia in November 2015, and the second in Italy in February of this year.

Another successful edition of 16th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster

Over 160 participants attended the Italian stage of the 16th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster event, held from 3 to 6 february at the Tombolo Talasso Resort in Tuscany. The event was the second in a series of three (the first having taken place in Asia in November 2015) Yachtmaster conferences with the aim to increase the company and its partner’s communication on a global scale.

Dynamic workshops were presented where participants could learn more about industry-relevant subjects. Coordinated and paneled by experts, the groups of participants were able to participate in rotation in all the different workshops. The four themes dealt with the fundamental issues of insurance, taxes, new environmental protection standards and new challenges in crew management. Benetti yacht captains were also interviewed, illustrating their experience in the various discussions.

16th Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster Italy a success

The global marine transport company Peters &amp; May has come up with a novel way to show its support for the charity Breast Cancer Clinical Trials (BCCT). The ‘Pink Lashings’ campaign uses its specially manufactured pink lashings to secure yachts during shipment with the aim of raising £25,000 for the charity.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151238/image/large-fa6839e320189f26c1561d16701df3a7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/151238">The initiative was launched this October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A donation of just £5 for each lashing strap by the owner will be matched by the company to give a total donation of £10 to the charity for each strap used. Whilst the number of straps required for each shipment is calculated by its weight and length, the average 80ft yacht would use 50 lashings and therefore raise £500 for the charity.The first customer to support the Pink Lashings campaign is the owner of the 23 metre Leopard, who commented, “I’m thrilled to be supporting such a brilliant cause, and hope that many other boat owners will follow in my footsteps.” The yacht will arrive in the USA on 20th October in time for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.By Gemma Fottles

Pink Lashings to support Breast Cancer Research

Peters &amp; May and Sevenstar Yacht Transport are pleased to announce a new joint venture to provide specialised logistics for the yacht racing community. Over the past several years, both companies have been active in supplying services to the yacht racing industry. Peters &amp; May, the world’s leading boat and yacht logistics company, has appointed Jeff Drake as Global Managing Director. Peters & May and Air & Ocean Shipping combine to shrink the world 

Peters &amp; May are pleased to announce the opening of a new logistics operation in France, based from the super-yacht shipyard at La Ciotat, near Marseilles. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/122366/image/large-8c5107d153f76c84dae68ba98113ca65.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/122366"> Peters &amp; May is the first logistics company within the shipyard specialising in yacht and marine services. Spearheading this success is Alain Rigaud, Agency Director for Peters &amp; May France. Alain has created a close working relationship with key businesses at La Ciotat, including Monaco Marine, Compositeworks, Southern Spars Europe and H2X. Alain is assisted by Jean Claude Verany and Antoine Pinson. La Ciotat is perhaps the largest shipyard development in the Western Mediterranean for sailing and power yachts, with an emphasis on super-yachts.
