The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/119" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Horizon Yachts (Company)">Horizon</a> Group has completed the installation of a new 1,800-tonne shiplift system at its <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8833" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Premier Shipyard (Company)">Premier Shipyard</a> facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan This marks a significant expansion of the shipyard’s superyacht refit and maintenance services in Asia.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/394553/image/large-02826ae274237fb81b22da0cbd2fc6cc.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/394553">Developed over two years, the new Pearlson Shiplift System has been introduced as part of the group’s ongoing investment in facility expansion and after-sales support services.The shipyard is located on 200-metres of waterfront in the Port of Kaohsiung. It covers around 24,000-square-metres of private yard space and is designed to handle large-scale upgrades and repairs for superyachts operating throughout the Asia-Pacific region.The new shiplift system measures 45-metres by 17-metres and can lift yachts up to 90-metres in length with beams of up to 16-metres. The platform itself weighs about &nbsp;700 tonnes, establishing it as one of the largest yacht-dedicated lifting systems in Asia.According to the shipyard, the new infrastructure has been specifically built to support refit and maintenance operations for yachts above 70-metres, building on the facility’s experience of completing refit works on vessels measuring up to 69-metres in length. Notably, the yard has completed works on more than 30 yachts since establishing its refit operations.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/394554/image/large-84d1e05b0a78ea4638354e34701056c8.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/394554">The yacht has previously worked alongside major classification societies including <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bureau Veritas (Company)">Bureau Veritas</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1452" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lloyd's Register (Company)">Lloyd’s Register</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1457" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="RINA (Company)">RINA</a> and DNV. Moreover, they have serviced yachts built by renowned shipyards such as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/363" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Riva S.p.A.
