For this weeks tender spotlight we are taking a closer look at the Heritage 40 Cabin from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale Yachts</a>' aluminium racing line. Designed and built by the Italian yacht builder, the Heritage 40 is a full custom yacht built to the highest manufacturing standards.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/210856/image/large-7fd39e037b0e47b931e1d14fae79a8b5.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/210856">Designed to be the perfect tender to a superyacht, day cruiser, fishing boat or even as a military vessel, the Heritage 40 is a dynamic little vessel of 9.95-metres, with a 3.77-metre beam. Built from aluminium, the boat has a sturdy hull and is recyclable after use, a key reason for its aluminium construction. The hull has been treated with nanotechnology treatment which prevents the metal from absorbing heat when exposed to light, meaning that the life of the vessel is extended. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/210857/image/large-f324563948f6e902ec991f6e357c13ea.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/210857">In terms of performance the tender has three outboard petrol engines of 300 horsepower each, giving her a cruising speed of 30-40 knots and a top speed of more than 54 knots. The distribution of weight has been carefully calibrated to ensure a soft passage across waves, even in rough sea conditions.

Tender Spotlight: Heritage 40 from Reale Yachts

Starting up a new shipyard in a busy market requires expertise, experience and, above all, a competitive product. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale Yachts</a> in Pisa has all three.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180148/image/large-7d04b5a8c656bebe10d675452d2ad5e3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180148">Nico Laude, the charismatic yachting consultant behind<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">&nbsp;Reale Yachts</a>, has lived and breathed boats for the last 30 years. Having worked on the sales teams of some of Italy’s leading yacht brands, he co-founded the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/3046" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Whyko S.R.L. (Company)">WHYKO</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5378" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Phi Yachts (Company)">Phi Yachts&nbsp;</a>brokerage firms. But it was only after he set up Phi Lab, a refit and storage facility in Pisa, that the idea of building new began to take hold.&nbsp;“The whole idea of opening a new-build shipyard started by accident,” says the CEO of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale Yachts.&nbsp;</a>“Tommaso Bini, the son of Guido Bini whose family owned Cantieri di Pisa, was working with me at the refit yard and we had long discussions about the market and the boats we’d like to build. These chats led to an idea and a long process that took nearly three years before it was put into practice.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/106622/image/large-542be695add64d2c7f81fd6743635457.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/106622">One of the first steps was to engage the designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali&nbsp;</a>to flesh out concepts for a series of compact yet rugged explorer yachts and supply vessels. Hydrodynamics specialist Francesco Rogantin was taken on to optimise the naval architecture and engineering. Veteran boatbuilder Guido Bini came out of retirement to join the nascent team and he was joined by Simone Marconcini, formerly with Nautor and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4329" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Logica Yachts (Company)">Logica Yachts</a>.&nbsp;Backed by these experienced and expert managers, Laude signed up a knowledgeable owner in the market for an expedition yacht “without borders” for the first 32-metre Pacifico explorer before the brand had even been formally established. The keel was laid in July last year with delivery scheduled for spring 2021. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/108293/image/large-cdfac2f4489996694908cb551bfc1f4b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108293">“Nico was very clear from the start what he wanted to create: a long-range, seaworthy vessel with purposeful lines based on solid construction and engineering,” says Casali. It is no coincidence that in Italian reale has two meanings: ‘royal’ and ‘real’, and the shipyard’s name reflects its mission to build yachts “the old-fashioned way” with quality as the starting point.“The important thing is not to cut corners to save money but to build the best product we can,” says veteran boatbuilder Guido Bini who grew up at his family’s famous shipyard. “I remember my father always said that all boats look beautiful when they’re finished, but you have to look behind the scenes and understand how they’ve been built to understand whether there the quality is there or not.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180149/image/large-344c8104754d3fcaaf1bc4c4ae5fbd9a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180149">To prove the point, Laude reels off the specifications of the steel and aluminium Pacifico 32 in build: the twin MAN medium-duty 880-hp engines and two generators of 80kW each; the cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at nine knots; the oversized 220kg anchors; the refrigerated garbage store under the foredeck seating; the deck room for a 6.20-metre tender, jet skis or even a mini sub.And the list goes on: “How many 32-metre yachts of just over 300GT have an air-conditioned control room in the engine room and interior ceiling heights of up to 2.17 metres?” asks Laude. “Just the other day we decided to build the frames for the hull portholes out of stainless steel and even the hard top on the sundeck is insulated against sound and vibration. While most shipyards are compressing their standard specifications, we’ve chosen to upgrade them.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/106619/image/large-c201af7adca2cf49d7b99965ee974d9e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/106619">The expert owner’s business background is in shipping and the technical design by Francesco Rogantin, from the rugged hull to the piping and cable routing, reflects his desire for an explorer yacht conceived and built along ship-like principles. “Using extensive CFD analysis we came up with a beamy hull shape that has low resistance and optimal stability,” says the naval architect. “The owner wanted an ice-reinforced hull built in high-tensile AH36 steel to strict Bureau Veritas rules for unrestricted navigation. This required adding weight to the structure, but we were able to meet all the stability criteria without having to add ballast tanks.” &nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/108008/image/large-87d143450fe598eba5e9cacd9cd0a5ec.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108008">At the time of my visit to the new shipyard in Pisa’s yacht-building district, the final transom block had yet to be welded into place, but even missing the last few metres the hull looked much more imposing than its overall length suggests. Standing atop the plumb bow two stories above the ground felt more like being on a 50-metre vessel. Climbing down into the forepeak locker revealed the web of stringers, beams and stiffeners that reinforce the thick steel plating designed to brush aside brash ice. Laude initially recommended a commercial paint finish, but the owner has opted for a fully-faired hull.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/106621/image/large-275c34f99d7a90779a9f6b2c72ef8fc1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/106621">The custom layout responds to the owner’s needs and provides for a master stateroom on the upper deck with its own private aft deck, a VIP suite with private office and two large guest cabins amidships on the lower deck. There is accommodation for six crew on the lower deck and – unusually for a yacht of this size – a captain’s cabin behind the wheelhouse. The interior design, also by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali</a>, will be in a contemporary classic style requested by the owner. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/106620/image/large-f1748f8001fe7c8dbd91bbba8acd3bef.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/106620">The transom beach club is equipped with a lounging area, sauna, day head and dive room. As the tenders and toys are stowed on the open aft deck, the main salon and dining area have sliding glass doors that open along the sides instead of the standard aft doors. The high-spec galley on the main deck has a large adjoining pantry.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/108004/image/large-d0e72735bb150b78558d4f258a85cdae.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108004">A defining feature of the design not immediately apparent from the renders is the absence of exterior staircases. This was a conscious decision as the yacht may well be used in northern waters and colder climes. In fact, access to the sun deck is via an interior staircase inside the mast structure, which also houses a day head. &nbsp;Special attention has been paid to reducing noise and vibration to a minimum. This includes standard procedures such as elastic-mounted machinery and floating floors and partitions, but also care in routing toilet, shower and washbasin discharges. For reasons of noise attenuation at anchor as well as ease of maintenance, the compartments for the ABT electric stabilisers are in the engine room and not the lower deck guest cabins. In fact, contractual noise levels in the guest cabins are a hushed 47dB in harbour.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/108005/image/large-6e21d9e2caa13bd0e521c22585b1306a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108005">With the first Pacifico 32 due to launch in spring 2021, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale Yachts&nbsp;</a>continues to develop its other models from 28 to 50 metres, which besides the Pacifico line includes the Panarea, Lanavetta and Ombra ranges. As the man overseeing the design team behind projects such as the Silent 80 by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5188" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silent Yachts (Company)">Silent Yachts</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1080" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Rossinavi (Company)">Rossinavi</a>’s Blue Runner 49, Marco Casali of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Too Design</a> has had a busy 2019. To round up the year, Casali has shared exclusive insights with SuperYacht Times into two of his next upcoming projects currently in-build: hull number one of the super-fast 30.48-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/201" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="ISA Yachts (Company)">ISA</a> Super Sportivo 100GTO and the 32.7-metre explorer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale</a> Pacifico 32. Also in his top three is the concept for the Rossinavi 65 - a sleek lifestyle superyacht whose ability to be quickly adapted to a prospective owner will no doubt keep Casali and his team busy for the foreseeable future. ISA&nbsp;Super Sportivo 100GTO <img src="/uploads/store/photo/108001/image/large-922d1c5ad1705f5c6608982882dd0976.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108001"><img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/107999/image/large-1a4e0b0b7deeee7f84ebd1f3d7ed25ca.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/107999">Set to be presented and delivered to her owner during the <a href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cannes Yachting Festival - 2020">Cannes Yachting Festival 2020</a>, the first unit of the ISA Super Sportivo 100GTO is the fastest boat in the range. Topping out at more than 50 knots, the lightweight boat sports twin hydrojets, one booster and three 3000hp engines - a technical platform by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1206" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Arnaboldi (Company)">Marco Arnaboldi</a> and a design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali</a> which remained unaltered for the new owner. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/108000/image/large-4793a512663f0d6e3b09e78abb0faf94.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108000">Currently under construction at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1757" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Palumbo Shipyard (Company)">Palumbo Superyachts</a>’ yard in Ancona, the yacht’s hull and superstructure will be built using an epoxy-based vinylester resin with carbon fibre and Kevlar reinforcements. The 30.48-metre superyacht formed part of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1757" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Palumbo Shipyard (Company)">Palumbo</a>’s strategy to introduce a series of fast yachts to their range, something which the brand wanted to invest in respect of their heritage. &nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/108002/image/large-7f7a6a41a42572822a53fd5e51b7a14d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108002"><img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/108003/image/large-f796e115c70f6a06b718afd642bb07ce.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108003">As seen in these exclusive renderings, the layout by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali</a> is created to be used as an open day boat. &nbsp;The standard layout comes complete with four staterooms, including a full master in the aft plus a separate crew area with double twin cabins. In future versions of the model, the stateroom configuration can be changed to suit the needs of the owner and can be fully customised to feature up to five staterooms.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/86848/image/large-2bdd91a3f561732dd6d3bf7237e2246a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/86848">Characteristics that derive from car racing such as the dynamic and sporty engine have been incorporated into <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Casali’</a>s design. The custom pillars to the engine support the engine activity when travelling faster than 30 knots, instantly optimising the performance by a further 30% thanks to the amount of fresh air that can be pushed into the engine space. Inspired by the Star Trek control centre, the condensed helm space is controlled by an iPad or iMac. Reminiscent of a convertible car is the large wrap-around sliding glass doors, which can be easily opened via the touch of a button to fulfil the brief for an open boat and keep a full connection from the bow to the aft. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Reale Pacifico 32 <img src="/uploads/store/photo/108011/image/large-553c194d948a29d722f3dcb963bf0266.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108011">As the first unit from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale Yachts</a>’ new Pacifico range for yachts between 20 and 50 metres, the 32.7-metre Pacifico 32 was confirmed sold during December 2019 with delivery expected during the spring of 2021. The Pacifico line will be followed by the Panarea and the Baltico lines also designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali</a> for a different variation of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale</a> brand heritage.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/108005/image/large-6e21d9e2caa13bd0e521c22585b1306a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/108005">Built to be a&nbsp;“real” explorer able to handle rough seas for long durations, the Pacifico 32 will sport a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure giving her a total volume of 277 GT. As seen in new renderings released by designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali</a>, hull number one will feature a ‘sugar paper blue’ hull and simple lines to deter from a typical military-style explorer look. The upper deck is reserved for the owner who will benefit from the utmost privacy, thanks to a large suite and a wide private outdoor deck area. The main deck will feature a VIP guest stateroom as well as a spacious saloon, a large galley and an outdoor area that can house a 6.2-metre tender. Now looking for a client to bring the concept to life, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Casali</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1080" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Rossinavi (Company)">Rossinavi</a> have designed the new 65-metre superyacht to be a project with longevity that will remain relevant for years to come. Along with an innovative use of space, special features on board include the saloon located in the bow with a veranda that can be opened or closed and a swimming pool. These busy areas are balanced in the design by the additional saloon forward. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/107852/image/large-7e90ec654fec9034031bfe9d0b00aac5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/107852">The aft area that is commonly used for mooring tenders and toys has been specially curated to be a dedicated beach club. Instead, guests will embark via the side terraces in the bow if the aft area is being used for swimming and activities. Designed to be easily accessible, the beach club is an area orientated around family and friends: guests can witness their friends arriving via tender for an alfresco lunch, or watch the children swimming safely nearby. For shelter, guests can meet in the raised cockpit - designed as an additional option for private gatherings. &nbsp;<img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/107849/image/large-95ce200783554d3ceaab6f1fe23ed1a3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/107849">The six-cabin layout places the double owner’s suite and five staterooms in the lower deck - a feature “not found in traditional layouts”. Exclusive: Marco Casali reveals three of his latest superyacht projects 

Following the successful inauguration of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5377" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reale Yachts (Company)">Reale Yachts</a>’ new Pisa-based facility, the Italian shipyard has sold its first unit from the Pacific range that encompasses yachts from 28-45 metres, the Pacifico 32. <img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/106624/image/large-f4968472c53a39e97d6eb2a02e0f779c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/106624">The 32.7-metre yacht with an 8.2-metre beam is currently under construction and is being built to the exterior designs of the Rome-based studio <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4335" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Marco Casali Too Design (Company)">Marco Casali Too Design</a>. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/106621/image/large-275c34f99d7a90779a9f6b2c72ef8fc1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/106621">The Reale Pacifico 32 will sport a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure that will give her a total volume of 220GT. First Pacifico 32 sold and under construction

Reale Yachts has sold the first unit from its Pacifico range, the Pacifico 32, which is currently under construction at the yard’s Pisa facility.
