The 2015 edition of the Riviera Yacht Support (RYS) annual Snow Bonanza came to a close recently, with the company stating the event as one of the best they have experienced to date.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/153101/image/large-0a879dc3339f0d52fdf4f87f08fa15da.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/153101">RYS describe the event, saying, “All participants were given brightly colored XL boxer shorts to wear outside of ski pants in order to identify each other from afar on the slopes. At noon we all gathered on the deck of the great restaurant “La Bergerie.” The festivities started with aperitif and continued with a fantastic three course mountain meal and much merriment!“During lunch, our annual parallel slalom challenge was set-up close to the restaurant. Skiers and snowboarders then took to the course. Heros and Zeros rocketed at great speeds down the track which included an entertaining jump half way. At 4 o'clock the venue change to the Restaurant Les Vallons where the apres-ski and prize giving ceremony took place.”Winners of this years Snow Bonanza are as follows: - Charli Witts, M/Y Odessa, Biggest Jump. - Mark Lasoski, M/Y Arkley, Biggest Jump. - Kate Henderson, M/Y Arkley, Best Dressed. - Ty Falkenstein, M/Y Arkley, Best Dressed. - AP Andersen and his crew on M/Y Odessa won a keg of beer from Colgans Brewery for having most participants from one yacht, with 12 in total. - Berna Lasoski, M/Y Arkley won a wetsuit from Yacht Chandlers for Best Lipstick. - Kane Gall, M/Y Maraya won 5 Jägerbombs from the Blue Lady for traveling from the Caribbean to participate.By Gemma Fottles

Riviera Yacht Support Snow Bonanza 2015

The Riviera Yacht Support annual Golf Bonanza will return for its 5th edition on the 3rd October. The event will be hosted at the Grande Bastide Golf Course, France, and Monaco Marine will remain the events Premium Sponsorship Partner as in previous years. During the 18 holes of golf, participants will be served refreshments from two drinks buggies sponsored by the Blue Lady Pub in Antibes and Marina Port Vell in Barcelona.The Hole in One challenge provides participants with the opportunity to win a brand new Mercedes Roadster, and is sponsored by Freedom Yachting. Riviera Yacht Support Golf Bonanza returns

The greatest snow event in the yachting calendar is back! Riviera Yacht Support are running the 4th edition of the fast-becoming-infamous Snow Bonanza! The Snow Bonanza 4.0 kicks off on Friday the 15th of March and promises to be even better than before. Having had the priviliedge of partaking in the 2011 event with a host of Captains, Crew and Industry Professionals, I feel qualified to be able to highly recommend this fun and social event, run by the superb team at Riviera Yacht Support. The day starts bright and early in Antibes where coaches are waiting. Once fully loaded with skis and snowboards, the coaches set off and a breakfast of pain-au-chocolats, croissants, coffee, tea and orange juice is served whilst inspirational ski and snowboard dvd’s get everyone in the mood for the antics ahead! Rental equipment and instructors can be booked if required when registering for the event on the Riviera Yacht Support website. Ski-passes with full insurance are provided for everyone. At noon everyone meets a green-slope restaurant, where thirsts are quenched and hunger is satisfied! Aperitifs, wine, sunshine and a three-course mountain meal is all included! For those who wish, there will also be time in the afternoon to continue skiing and snowboarding before the extremely generous prize-giving and the first apres-ski session. The Riviera Yacht Support 1,000 metre Yacht Lunch

With increasing pressure on governments to raise revenue, ever-changing rules, and differences in tax regulations for (especially) alcohol in relation to other products, Riviera Yacht Support clarifies some fundamental rules regarding the delivery of tax free goods to yachts in the EU. To purchase goods, including alcohol and provisions, tax free, the local Customs Office needs to be satisfied that the goods are to be exported permanently, and consumed outside the EU (not in port or on a static charter, for example). For a supplier not to have to pay the VAT/TVA bill they need to keep and show duly approved Customs documents, and so might you. This proof involves fees as well as the presentation – in advance – of the vessel’s commercial registration, applicable charter agreement, and crew list. The goods cannot be legally consumed in port or used for ongoing boat-stock. This is the only legal way of effecting a tax free delivery directly to a yacht in the EU. Any supplier who may offer ‘loopholes’ (for example, invoicing to, or from, a company outside the country of delivery) is taking the risk of prosecution. Not just to themselves, but also on your behalf. More and more vessels are being boarded this year. The penalties can be most extreme, and are not limited to fines, but may include prosecution, and can certainly delay the vessel. They do not take their boots off when boarding, and might bring dogs. Not much fun the day before a charter begins. Commercial registration does not equal the right not to pay VAT on goods consumed within the EU (in port, at anchor or on static charter) but only for exported items (fuel, for example, as well as equipment for the yacht itself). You pay the tax on a drink at the bar in the airport. Only with your boarding card can you buy a bottle tax free to take away. Tax free deliveries of consumable goods on superyachts

Riviera Yacht Support in Antibes, are the leading providers on the Côte d’Azur of the WSET wine tasting qualification, an invaluable course for anyone working in the field of luxury yachting, or wishing to learn more about the world of wine. A few weeks ago I enrolled in the WSET level 2 wine course, an official qualification for wine tasting from the leading body in wine training, the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. Even though the course is aimed at anyone wanting to learn more about wine and how to taste it, Louise was able to apply the syllabus specifically to the yachting industry, making having this qualification a real advantage for those working on board superyachts. Riviera Yacht Support organises 2011 Golf Bonanza 

Following two years of great times and success Riviera Yacht Support have announced that the fun will continue as they hold the third Snow Bonanza in Auron. The day will involve lots of activity and the expected lively itinerary is to include the following: The day will kick off at 7:00 am on Friday the 25th of March where two 50-seater buses will depart from the port of Antibes &amp; from the port of Monaco. Breakfast (coffee, the, croissants, pain au chocolate, fruit + juice) will be served onboard and inspiring ski and snowboard films shown on the TV’s. On arrival, rental equipment will be ready for those in need; ski passes with full insurance will be distributed to everyone. Compatible groups will be organised for those who would like to, and Ski &amp; snowboard instructors will be standing by for those who would like a lesson. At noon everyone will meet at the restaurant La Bergerie on the green slope for an aperitif followed by a hearty three course mountain lunch with wine and coffee included. Refreshed and rosy cheeked, the entertainment will really take off, the ski school having set up a parallel slalom course for participants next to the restaurant. As this is on a green slope everyone can participate, no matter what level! This will be followed by some time to ski or snowboard in the afternoon for those who wish.
