Schwalgien Yacht Design History Kirsten joined the yacht industry in 2004 and while working in Hamburg she has been involved in the design of numerous super yacht builds including prestigious vessels as MY Luna, MY Triple Seven and MY Sapphire.
In 2013 she set up her own Yacht Design Studio in Barcelona, Schwalgien Yacht Design. Approaching every project from an avant- garde perspective, always in search of innovation and tailor made solutions.
With a portfolio of clients worlwide the studio ́s extensive body of work covers multiple disciplines, gravitating from the yachting world to the interior of high- end residential & hospitality spaces. Founder Kirsten Schwalgien is a fierce advocate for unconventional beauty, and has earned global recognition by consistently combining precision and analytical thinking.
The studio has won a string of prestigious design awards including the Good Design Award / Chicago, MUSE Design Award / New York, the German Design Award /Frankfurt and the WIN Awards/London for which Kirsten has been in the judging pannel during the last editions.
Recently, Kirsten has also started to combine the studio life with lectures at IED university in Barcelona where she teaches Transportation & Interior Design

Amongst the studio ́s most recent delivered yacht project is the support vessel MY Nebula (68m) Armon Shipyards and her fully- custom designed 12m tender Catamaran built by Compass Tenders. MY Big Shadow - a shadow vessel concept in collaboration with Damen Shipyards
