The London-based design studio Gresham Yacht Design has recently unveiled their latest 100-metre superyacht concept: Exploris. Lloyds PYC classified, an Ice Class hull, the ability to carry multiple large tenders and toys, and an impressive range of 7,000 nm makes this new design a true explorer vessel.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/31948/image/large-fce1c7278a8b66ecd5f47678200d160e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/31948">Steve Gresham, director of Gresham Yacht Design explains some of the most important features on board: “Exploris features a dedicated helicopter hangar that can house an Augusta Grand or EC135. When guests land on deck, doors forward lead into the heart of Exploris starting at the unusually high beach club where twin 12.5-metre custom tenders are launched and retrieved. Once the tenders are deployed, the 18-metre full beam can be utilised with the added benefit of enhanced privacy that this level affords. When you add a Trident submersible, full dive facilities including a decompression chamber, there is nowhere beyond reach.

Gresham Yacht Design presents new 100m explorer yacht

The latest superyacht concept to be presented by Italian shipyard Fincantieri is Sundance, an impressive 90 metre vessel designed specifically for Fincantieri from British based studios, Gresham Yacht Design and Seymour Diamond.

On board she accommodates up to 14 guests as well as a crew of 30. The design promotes a strong emphasis on the incorporation of indoor/outdoor living, clearly seen within her full beam main saloon. With full height windows angled outboard and a dramatic connection between this room and the sun deck above by way of a central skylight, her interior is flooded with natural light and spectacular views. The skylight is located at the centre of the 240 square metre sundeck, which also features a 10 metre pool complete with waterfall and spa.

Other notable features on board include an expansive owner’s suite with a private terrace, a total of three Jacuzzis spread over three different decks, a substantial private cinema, and a fully-equipped gym with even more panoramic views. With the foredeck including a touch and go helipad and the garage with enough space for two 10 metre limo tenders, a 7.5 metre crew tender, and four jet skis, Sundance presents a complete package when it comes to enjoying the very best a superyacht has to offer.

Here we ask Steve Gresham of Gresham Yacht Design some quick-fire questions regarding the project.

 

Tell us about the collaboration between Gresham Yacht Design, Fincantieri and Seymour Diamond.

 

I have personally had a relationship with Fincantieri for 10 years and Sundance was designed specifically for them - Gresham Yacht Design often collaborate with Seymour Diamond for interior design and we work together from our Mayfair office in Central London.

What was the design brief for the project?

 

The design brief was simply to design a beautiful yacht with a strong connection between inside and outside living. We achieved this by featuring large windows for natural light and large exterior areas which are ideal to enjoy the best of al fresco living.

What are your personal highlights on board? 

 

The style of the vessel with the superstructure sheer line is a trademark Gresham look, whilst the full width 155 square metre main saloon with panoramic windows and the 240 square metre sundeck with the large swimming pool are definite favourites on board!

Superyachts Lady Marina, Royal Romance and Wedge Too off Monaco

 

Captured yesterday off Monaco were the three Feadship superyachts Lady Marina, Royal Romance and Wedge Too side by side.  

Built for an experienced owner who previously owned a 50 metre Hakvoort, named Lady M II, Lady Marina features a unique Donald Strakey exterior design unlike any other Feadship before her, with an elaborate mast setup, large helicopter landing deck, and raised pilot house deck above the owner’s private observation lounge.

The 92.50 metre Feadship Royal Romance was delivered to her owner last year. The yacht with a volume of 2,933 GT features an in-house design by Feadship and an interior by Seymour Diamond. She accommodates 14 guests with a company of 22 crew. One of her many exterior features includes a swimming pool located on the main aft deck, the largest ever installed on any Feadship.

The Phillipe Starck-designed Wedge Too was launched in 2002 and can often be seen spending time around Monaco. The 65 metre superyacht is known to feature some of the most bizarre on board amenities of any Feadship afloat today with un unmistakable timeless and elegant exterior.

Launched in October last year, the highly anticipated 92.50 metre superyacht from Feadship is pictured here on her way to seatrials. It was an early start of my saturday, driving up to the Feadship yard in Makkum, at 5am this morning, in order to see the launch of Feadship's latest superyacht, the 92.5 metre Project 1005. Her name is still covered up, and has not yet been revealed.The yacht is an inhouse design by Feadship, and she features an interior by Seymour Diamond. Fourteen guests will be easily accommodated on board, as well as a total of 22 crew. 1005 also features the largest pool ever installed on a Feadship. Exclusive: Feadship launches 92.5 metre hull 1005

Last week I visited the Feadship shipyard in Makkum, the Netherlands, as part of the Holland Yachting Group Press Tour 2014.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149009/image/large-104a51aa46c910c1564f6c91f4b08bb8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/148553">Unfortunately, some of Feadship's current projects are being kept under wraps, such as the 70 metre pictured above. We have, however, been allowed to unveil more information on several of the projects currently underway at the three shipyards that make up Feadship, together with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects.The first project is Hull 686, a twin screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. She measures an impressive 83.50 metres, with a 12.50 metre beam and 3.95 metre draught. Her interior design is by Cristina Benardeau.Hull 686 will accommodate 12 guests over four large staterooms, one VIP stateroom and the luxurious Owner’s suite. The crew of up to 26 will be accommodated over eight cabins, as well as personal cabins for the captain, engineer and two officers. Among other amenities and water toys, this vessel will come with two 9.0 metre tenders and one 15’ tender.The second project underway at Feadship in Aalsmeer is Hull 687. This 60.35 metre motor yacht is also built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and will have a fuel capacity of 120,000 litres. Her interior is the work of renowned Dutch design company, Sinot Yacht Design.She will accommodate ten guests over four guest staterooms, as well as the generous Owner’s stateroom. Her twelve crew will be accommodated over six crew cabins. Storage rooms, laundry, the galley and the crew mess will all be located on the lower deck. Hull 687 comes complete with a 7 metre tender and wave runners.The 46.40 metre motor yacht Hull 689 is the next project underway at Feadship, with naval architecture by Dubois Naval Architects and interior design by Redman Whitely Dixon. She is powered by 2x Caterpillar C32 / 895 kW engines. This vessel will accommodate 8 guests in total over two double staterooms and two twin staterooms.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149010/image/large-e1646732dd13a7af0fe85572428c92a6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/141064"> The fourth vessel is the smallest project underway at Feadship, Hull 690, a 44.20 metre twin screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Naval architecture is by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, with interior design by Bannenberg &amp; Rowell Design. She accommodates 8 guests, in three large staterooms, two of which are easily convertible into one large stateroom with separate seating, and one large full beam VIP stateroom forward. The generous Owner’s suite comes with a luxurious study, double bathroom and walk in dressing room.The crew quarters are comfortable and spacious, with a private en-suite room for the captain, and two double en-suite crew cabins. Hull 690 comes equipped with a swimming pool with lifting floor, among other exciting features.Hull 808 is the largest project currently underway at the shipyard, a breath taking 101.50 metre project, with 14.10 metre beam and 4.10 draught. She has a fuel capacity of 220,000 litres and is powered by 4x MTU 16V4000M73, 2560 kW engines. The impressive vessel boasts naval architecture by Feadship, with exterior styling by Tim Heywood and interior designs by François Zuretti and Peter Marino.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149011/image/large-e5dddb7b495ecadd3fa7c2f6fe7b438f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/149011">The 14 guests she easily sleeps will be accommodated over 6 guest staterooms and one VIP stateroom, together with a double Owner’s cabin. Accommodation is also provided for the captain, 4 officers, 22 crew members and two staff members to ensure that guests have the most comfortable and opulent experience on board. She comes with one master tender, one guest tender, one crew tender and 2 jet skis.The sixth project being undertaken is a 66.25 metre twin screw motor yacht, Hull 809. She accommodates twelve guests over 6 luxurious cabins, including four guest suites and a VIP large stateroom which can also be converted into two guest suites on the main deck. The Owner’s suite comes complete with his &amp; hers bathroom facilities, as well as facilities that provide the ultimate exclusivity. This consists of a full Owner’s deck covering the full beam of the yacht and an extendable balcony and lounge area that can be closed off with sliding doors to create a separate room.Hull 809 boasts naval architecture by Feadship, and an interior design by Eidsgaard Design. Her many amenities include a sauna, gym and massage room as well as a 26’ tender, an impressive 28’ tender and 2 wave runners. She can accommodate 17 crew in total.The 57.45 metre motor yacht Hull 810 has, again, been engineered by Feadship, with exterior styling created by Eidsgaard Design in conjunction with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects. She is powered by 2x MTU 12V4000M63 1500 kW engines, and has a fuel capacity of 116,000 litres. She will accommodate 14 crew in total, and comes equipped with one 8.00 metre tender and one 9.00 metre tender.Last but not least, the final project currently underway at the Feadship shipyards is Hull 1005. This superyacht is an imposing 92.10 metres, with a beam of 14.30 metres and draught of 3.85 metres. The naval architect is, once more, by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, and her interior design has been undertaken by Seymour Diamond in cooperation with the Owner.<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: none; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; text-align: -webkit-center;"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149012/image/large-5ecd71e2f0fd0eb7a2b885e604286d3d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144135">Fourteen guests will be easily accommodated on board, including four children in two children’s staterooms, the lavish Owner’s suite and eight guests over four guest staterooms. Projects currently under construction at Feadship

Last month I visited the Feadship shipyard Royal van Lent, in The Netherlands, as part of the Yacht Valley Press trip, where journalists from around the world are whizzed around the Dutch countryside, to visit leading shipyards, designers and suppliers. Unfortunatelly, some of Feadship's current projects are being kept under wraps, yet we have been allowed to unveil more information on some of the projects currently underway at the three shipyards that make up Feadship, together with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144627/image/large-946d7e14a966412f1615e5fa883f7ce6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/140011">The largest of the projects is hull 808, the 101.5 metre yacht that was moved to the Feadship yard at Kaag Island this week, is designed by Tim Heywood, and will have an interior by Zuretti and Peter Marino. This will be Tim Heywood's first Feadship, although the designer was also involved in the design of superyacht Siran when he still worked for the design studio of Jon Bannenberg, and redesigned her when she was under refit in 2007. The largest Feadship to date will accommodate 14 guests in six guest staterooms and one VIP stateroom together with a double owner’s stateroom.<strong style="text-align: -webkit-center; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: none; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px;"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144628/image/large-f33309ec121f42b9a510aa0bd2bee5a1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144628">Design studio Redman Whitely Dixon , is working on the interiors of Feadship project 688, an all aluminium 46.22 metre, designed by Dubois in the UK. The yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar C32's, and she will accommodate four guests in two double guest staterooms and four guests in two twin guest staterooms<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: none; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; text-align: -webkit-center;"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144629/image/large-7e2486169199db923a424426684714d5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144282">Andrew Winch is responsible for the interior and exterior styling of hull 807, a 62 metre Feadship christened Sea Owl. I visited the yacht, but unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos on board. Besides her breathtakingly beautiful interior, the owners' vision for Sea Owl called for highly modern and complex technical specifications, including an extraordinarily sophisticated security system that both yard and owner's team regard as possibly the most elaborate ever built into a yacht. Project 687 is a 60.35 metre yacht designed by Dutch designers Sinot Yacht Design. The steel hulled displacement yacht will be powered by twin MTU 12V4000M53R diesels. She will offer accommodation to her owners, as well as eight guests in four guest staterooms, and a crew of 12.<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: none; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; text-align: -webkit-center;"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144630/image/large-a54a0b12a6010cf731d2b10fb51bbbb0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144135">Last but not least, the yard in Makkum is working on hull 1005, a 92.10 metre yacht, designed also by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects. The interior is by a new name to the superyacht industry, Seymour Diamond. Although Seymour Diamond may be a relatively new name, they have years of experience working at Terence Disdale's design studio. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144631/image/large-93ac737cd32d5006bde894547682abe9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144596">Meanwhile, Feadship has delivered Madame Gu, just before the summer. She is the largest Feadship to date. The 99-metre masterpiece was created by the Feadship yard in Makkum and is also the largest superyacht ever built in the Netherlands.
