The Holland Yachting Group has announced that the 2016 edition of the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show was an unprecedented success, with a 17.5% increase on visitor numbers in comparison to the previous year.

Hosted from August 30th to September 4th, over 23,500 people visited the Dutch capital to view around 250 boats from both Dutch and international yards. Five exhibitors from the Holland Yachting Group were present at the event, including Mulder Shipyard, Dynamic Marine Systems and StormYachts.

 
	“The successful participation of five of our members at this year’s HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show confirms that the dividing line between consumer boating and superyachts has become increasingly blurred,” concludes Jeroen Sirag, export director of the HISWA Holland Yachting Group. “Yacht builders and equipment suppliers can serve both markets with equal enthusiasm and the superyacht sector offers clear added value to boating companies looking to raise the quality bar still further.”

The 2016 HISWA Boat Show a success in Amsterdam

Storm Yachts has recently reported updates on the construction of the S-78 superyacht currently in build in their facilities, stating that the shipyard are focusing on preparatory activities that precede the fitting of the interior.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152348/image/large-e2752aaa8e2148ce66d3bcd6dca992cd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152348">So far, the insulation and floating floor with integrated heating have already been installed in the S-78’s saloon. Thanks to the use of exclusive materials with highly effective acoustic properties, the living space will be characterised by impressively little noise pollution.The area below deck where the cabins are located will also feature a floating floor with integrated floor heating. Before this can be completed, however, a soundproof substance will be first applied to the walls to increase resistance to vibrations. All connections will be welded directly onto the relevant tanks in the highly accessible engine compartment without (PVC) swivels, elbows or taps, ensuring that there are no leaks during the yacht’s entire lifespan.By Gemma Fottles

Construction of the Storm Yachts S-78 continues

The hull of the S-78 was brought from the painting compound to the Storm Yachts finishing hall late last month. A short ride on public roads is an integral part of this type of move, and is always a high-profile event.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/148311/image/large-2ca6ed0ab691b395a71b50b5ab997f9c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/148311">Several truck drivers waiting by the side of the road initially refused the request to park somewhere else, but the imposing appearance of the approaching luxury yacht quickly caused them to change their minds.Storm Yachts are currently determining the positioning of the pipes, the connections for the tanks and the components in the engine compartment. The placement of the supply and discharge pipes requires extra attention as there will be no drains in the side of the hull.Optimal hull efficiency and minimal maintenance go hand in hand, and Storm Yachts’ aim is to ensure that they launch an intelligent and well thought-through yacht; one which will stand as a testament to the brand’s efficiency and quality. Storm Yachts move 24 metre S-78

Storm Yachts in The Netherlands have just released this photo of the S-78 under construction. The final coat of paint, however, will only be applied during the last stage of the building process. This will allow the already applied pre-paint system to solidify. It also reduces the likelihood of any damage that might otherwise be caused during the work.The X-78's drive technology and the patented FDFH hull shape guarantee excellent and comfortable cruising characteristics. Low fuel consumption, makes a transatlantic crossings an option, which is a rare feature to have on a motoryacht this size.The yacht offers accommodation in a large owner's suite, a forward double VIP suite, and a port side guest cabin. Storm Yachts S-78 reaches next step of construction

Dutch yacht builder Storm Yachts is currently working hard on the <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/41099">S-78</a>. A larger model however is already being designed. The S-99 is designed for clients admiring the tough and impressive design language of the S-78, but need additional space and comfort for 8 people. The sailing characteristics and hull efficiency are on par with the S-78.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/146147/image/large-869c0e8fe505f8b5c550428368bb5036.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/146147">The S-99 profile closely relate to the other designs from the S-series but exudes more elegance by the extra length. The long and partly covered flybridge gives a new meaning to 'al-fresco' relaxing and dining', but also provides for a second helm, galley and extra protection from the elements for the after deck!The main saloon and galley provide for all the comfort that people would expect from a super yacht of this size.
