The Maltese Falcon book

We take a look at the latest magazines, books and other yacht publications. This month includes; Yacht Design, Boat International, Yacht Valley, Showboats, Yachts International, The Yacht Report, The Crew Report, Dockwalk and the 2007 Charter Portfolio of Ocean Independence. In the April/May issue of Showboats reviews of the Benetti Sunday, Admiral’s Be Cool, Wally’s <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/202">Esense</a> and the <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/316">Calixas 105</a>. In a move to reflect the success of last year’s superyacht ‘show within a show’, the SuperYacht Pavilion at METS 2007 (SYP 2007) has been significantly enlarged from 748 to 1,000 sq m. Show organiser, Amsterdam RAI, expect a 50% increase in exhibitors. The Yacht Report again joins forces with Amsterdam RAI to deliver a meeting place that will attract all of the key disciplines from every facet of the Superyacht industry. Emphasis on services Up to 75 companies will promote products and services that are specific to the superyacht sector. Particular emphasis for 2007 is placed on the service sector of the industry and extra focus will be on: repair and refit; crew management; bunkering and fuelling; yacht transport; and provisioning. The pavilion, with its luxury stands and up-market catering arrangement, offers an exclusive platform for those involved in the high-end yacht market. Global Superyacht Forum The pavilion is complemented by the Global Superyacht Forum (GSF) 2007, organised by The Yacht Report. The GSF features discussion groups, workshops, industry debates, technical papers and varied social and networking opportunities. Last year, the perfect mix of exhibition and conference programme attracted very high profile visitors including owners, captains, designers and builders from all over the world. Over 600 delegates are expected for GSF 2007. About METS METS, the world’s largest trade exhibition of marine equipment and accessories for the leisure marine industry, is organised by Amsterdam RAI in association with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA). The show’s target groups are yacht builders, naval architects, repair yards, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, captains, marina operators and equipment manufacturers from around the world. <noscript></noscript>

SuperYacht Pavilion expands further for METS 07

We take a look at the latest magazines, books and other yacht publications. This month; Boat International, The Yacht Report, Showboats, Yacht Magazine (De Valk) and The Lone Ranger Story. Magazines: In the February issue (#247) of Boat International; reviews of the new Sunseeker 90 and the Technema 85. Onboard article of the Heesen 3700 <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/70">G-Force</a>, Royal Huisman’s Gliss and Zulu from Fitzroy yachts. Like last year also a list of the 100 biggest yachts of the world.The January issue of The Yacht Report is their special Annual Report. This includes the 12 best yachts of 2006, the 12 best products of 2006 and off course the Global Build Report.The December/January issue of Showboats brings us in-depth interviews with the people behind the <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/385">Maltese Falcon</a>. Reviews on the Burger <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/320">Mirgab V</a> and the CRN GiVi and like every year the Global Order Book.Next to the regular magazines we also received a copy of the Yacht Magazine of De Valk Yacht Brokers. In their first issue of 2007 they talk about chartering and have an article on Holland Jachtbouw.Books:John Julian was kind enough to send us his latest book, The Lone Ranger Story.
