Hybrid propulsion systems, which reduce fuel consumption by up to 70%, reflect our commitment to sustainability. With roof-top exhaust, instead at the aft waterline, there are no noticeable fumes and noises on deck. Full-beam enclosed bridges, inspired by larger vessels, enhance both privacy and operational efficiency. A happy, well-supported team provides seamless service and creates a welcoming atmosphere that guests remember long after their voyage. To facilitate this, crew areas must be spacious and designed with their comfort in mind.&nbsp;Charter yachts should also cater to diverse guest needs. Spacious, well-appointed cabins – preferably on the main deck – offer a luxurious retreat. Multi-functional spaces accommodate everything from intimate family gatherings to lively social events. Modern charter clients expect ample storage for water toys, tenders, and other equipment. Such separation not only improves privacy but also boosts operational efficiency.&nbsp;Hybrid propulsion systems and solar power should also become industry norms. These technologies significantly reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact, aligning with the growing demand for sustainability. Redundant critical systems provide an additional layer of safety, particularly for long voyages. High bow heights improve seaworthiness, while spacious crew quarters ensure a well-rested team. "Originally, I was looking for a motor catamaran for my personal use. After exploring different motor catamarans and test-driving some of them, I couldn't find one that met my expectations," he shares, "I'm 1.95 metres tall, so from my point of view most of the catamarans are much too small to be comfortable, especially on long voyages.” Wuttke, therefore, took matters into his own hands.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/325169/image/large-395eb329754ee0c2222a95115f313e15.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/325169">"I started conceptualising my own ideas and commissioned several yacht designs," Wuttke recalls. As he set out to create <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6279" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ultimate Catamarans GmbH (Company)">Ultimate Catamarans</a>, one of the first challenges he faced was “assembling a team that could get onboard with my disruptive ideas while also having practical experience in the field," he shares. The team ultimately took shape, with Olaf Steckstor joining as Director of Development and Sales. The company's flagship models—Spaceline 88, 120, and 150—offer a minimum ceiling height of 2.20 metres and guest cabins starting at 25 square metres. “Our design also offers a minimum of 25 square metres for guest cabins even on our smallest models,” stresses Wuttke.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/325163/image/large-3894c726aae3ba8bbad6c4e1bc8eaef1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/325163">Spaceline design is a philosophy focused on optimising and efficiently using space. This ensures maximum safety and comfort on long sea voyages. Moreover, the robust design enhances stability and weather resistance. "We’ve discussed our ideas with numerous owners’ representatives, captains, yacht owners, and brokers," Wuttke says. Each Spaceline model is also built-to-order, and clients &nbsp;collaborate with their own designers if desired. "The layout can be modified. Adjustments to headroom, room dimensions, and design elements are all possible, and the interior design is entirely individual." Wuttke explains. “We provide detailed budgets for each part of the yacht and ensure transparency in pricing. With over 800 square-metres of living spaces on board, designers say the concept was developed to maximise “space for your freedom at the sea."<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/190504/image/large-6edfc5dde5d6d06ae9727727ce527a55.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/190504">Eco-friendliness is at the epicentre of the Spaceline 100, which can be built in a solar, power, or hybrid version. Each version includes a hull designed for reducing resistance, which also serves to minimise energy consumption. The solar and hybrid versions are powered entirely by batteries and solar cells, requiring no generator while at anchor. Depending on weather conditions and on board consumptions, the catamaran can have an unlimited range when cruising in electrical mode.
