The company is based on three core principles: First is ensuring clarity prior to arrival so that captains know what’s permitted, what’s required, and what’s realistic; confirmed early, documented properly and aligned with the relevant authorities. Second is to have one accountable interface. As a captain, you shouldn’t be dealing with various agencies and vendors; there should simply be one point of contact. Guest experiences are managed with controlled risk and clear responsibility. “When it’s done well, the yacht feels like it’s operating in an established yachting hub,” Mervyn says, “even though Seychelles is still maturing into that status.”A collaborative futureRecently Mervyn worked to form a collaborative alignment with other Superyacht Agencies and Industry stakeholders in the country. The motivation is not to remove competition, he says, but to strengthen the destination’s credibility through consistency.Industry alignment reduces interpretative friction and strengthens the credibility of the jurisdiction when engaging with authorities.
