Sanlorenzo is presenting its 27.43-metre SD90 motor yacht at the Cannes Yachting Festival this week. The SD90 is the entry-level model from the revamped SD line, following the SD96 and SD118, all of which feature an exterior design by Zuccon International Project and an interior styled by Patricia Urquiola. Notably, the hull of the FD90 was designed in collaboration with Philippe Briand."The world of navettes is fascinating, as romantic as it is complex, because it is linked to a person who chooses to live at sea for a considerable amount of time, for whom time is not a limitation but a luxury, and for this reason they need spaces and opportunities that are often greater than those of boats of the same size but typologically different,” Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project commented. “I have worked on this aspect, aware that there is an important heritage to consider, without ever losing sight of two decisive aspects: the volumetric balance of the features, which help to harmonise the proportions, and respect for the brand's image, which is so deeply rooted, indispensable and solid.”The SD90 spans two and a half decks and features an open flybridge that is configured with a lower deck and main deck. The bow area of the main deck is conceived as a partial full-beam and is said to provide a more spacious area inside than a traditional layout. The fore area has been designed to cater to the needs of clients looking for relaxation and conviviality. Patricia Urquiola wrote flexibility into the interior design DNA, allowing the yacht a degree of adaptability for an owner’s particular needs. "After having designed the first two boats in the SD line, I really loved the fact that we went back to a smaller size instead of a larger volume. For each model we worked in such a way as to turn the spaces inside out, in a cross dialogue with the engineers, those who design the glazing and those who design the hull. The design is very complex, inside you find something deeply technological alongside something deeply artisanal,” Urquiola commented.Read: First look onboard Sanlorenzo’s pioneering coupé, the 33m SP110 The SD90 can accommodate as many as eight guests and four crew. The entry-level model is offered with either twin 800 horsepower MAN engines for a 14 knots top speed and 12 knots cruising speed, or twin 1,150 horsepower CAT engines for a 17 knots top speed and 15 knots cruising speed.

Alexander McDiarmid Design has pulled the wraps off an all-new 36-metre sport yacht concept for Ghost Yachts, dubbed the G120.  "The G120 bridges the gap between performance, comfort and efficiency, following our dolce far niente philosophy. Alex captured that easy living lifestyle and urge for innovation perfectly in this design,” Björn Moonen of Ghost Yachts commented. The G120 is a natural continuation of a fruitful and long-standing collaboration between Alexander McDiarmid Design and Ghost Yachts. She’s characterised by a refrained yet powerful exterior design. Her long, extended fore decks only accentuate her sporty aesthetic, while her three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines ensure she has the prowess. As McDiarmid explained, “The project sets itself apart from the start with the hard chine V, wave-piercing hull and reverse bow as used on the G250. The lightweight, low-drag aluminium hull with carbon fibre reinforced superstructure offers fuel efficiency and high top-speed while maintaining crisp handling and stability.” Read: 80m superyacht concept G250 unveiled by Alexander McDiarmid and Ghost Yachts The G120 can accommodate as many as six guests, across three VIP staterooms including a full-beam master suite. She can also carry four crew. Some of her standout features include a sunken and hidden foredeck featuring a motorised canopy for a shaded exterior lounge with privacy, an impressive saloon and dining area with an Atrium lounge, as well as a tender garage with space for a Castoldi Jet Tender.
