Excitement builds as 2019 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta draws closer
The 12th edition of the 2019 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta is gearing up to become another exciting gathering of super sailing yachts as a fleet of over 20 race-ready and performance-cruising heavyweights have set course for the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda where racing will kick off next week. Running from 3rd to 8th June 2019, this year’s program has been extended by an additional day to allow for fleet recovery and weather delays if needed. The largest yacht in the field is expected to be the 51.7-metre Alloy sailing yacht Q (ex Mondango) together with Perini’s Silencio also to make her presence felt on the starting line. In addition, Southern Wind Shipyard will be running its SWS Trophy alongside the Loro Piana regatta this year bringing with it a vibrant line up of its fast cruiser yachts. The highly anticipated new Kibiko Tres will make her debut in the waters of Porto Cervo next week when she rubs shoulders with some of her SWS sisters such as All Smoke and Seawave for the first time.
