Rover Design (Company)">Cor D Rover</a> unveiled a range of interior style choices and layout options for the all-aluminium 25.5-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> Modern Flybridge yacht project that is currently in-build. Ready for delivery within ten months of the interiors being finalised, the 25.5-metre Flybridge model is the latest addition to the series set to cruise the waters from 2021.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/169555/image/large-3d04a52182f198723be4756f2f6a627d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/169555">Adding floor-to-ceiling windows into the superstructure, the designers have also relocated the galley and exchanged having a large dining table for an innovative high-low table arrangement in two sections, with the lower end located towards the lounge and the other end serving as a high-bar. When placed together, this creates a visually impressive dining space for the guests. Other furniture found in the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> Modern Flybridge is loose, allowing for freedom of choice whilst still maintaining a cohesive style through the choice of colour scheme and design details.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/169554/image/large-4a3373721cb48e0d9abf31c1597a9db5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/169554">The first owners of the 25.5-metre Modern Flybridge will also have the choice of three colour palettes: Cosy Cognac, Cyan Life or Sensation Wide. The first renderings show a large alfresco lounge area at her bow, offering the perfect space for guests to entertain or relax.&nbsp;In terms of performance, Apex is powered by twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MTU (Company)">MTU</a> engines, providing her with a top speed of 28 knots, a cruising speed of 22 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.&nbsp;

According to the designers, the concept was conceived as a purpose-built world cruise cruiser capable of supporting extended voyages while accommodating a range of owner lifestyles.A key feature of the project is the availability of three distinct configurations built on a common platform.The Fisherman version is focused on a generous open aft deck designed to accommodate a substantial tender and a selection of water toys, without needing a dedicated chase boat. In Zero Mode or also known as Silent Mode, M80 would operate fully on electric propulsion, delivering vibration-free navigation with zero local emissions for up to eight hours, which would enable access to environmentally protected areas.In Eco-Hybrid Mode, diesel generators operate at optimal efficiency while electric motors provide propulsion, reducing fuel consumption by an estimated 25 to 30 percent. As a result of this, the judge did not dismiss the case because Boats Group lacks market power.However, the judge said that Brill Maritime had failed to show that Boats Group engaged in illegal anticompetitive conduct and under US antitrust law, being a monopoly is not illegal by itself.The court repeatedly emphasised that monopoly power is legal, but using that power through anticompetitive behaviour to exclude rivals is illegal.&nbsp;The judge found that Brill Maritime’s three main allegations were insufficient including that Boats Group became dominant by acquiring competitors such as YachtWorld.com, boats.com and YachtCloser.com.The judge said that acquiring competitors is not necessarily illegal and that Brill Maritime had not explained how these acquisitions had harmed competition. The complaint had described the acquisitions as “strategic” suggesting it was more of a successful business move than illegal conduct. The judge explained that Brill Maritime had shown that Boats Group bought competitors, but not that these acquisitions were unlawful. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/355039/image/large-513a0ee840e10e5371f647093bba58d9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/355039">Brill Maritime also claimed that Boats Group's subscription agreements stoped brokers from listing boats elsewhere. The judge examined the contract language and concluded that the provision merely prevented brokers from implying that a YachtWorld or Boats Group listing originated somewhere else. He therefore concluded that you can advertise on YachtWorld and on other sites and the contract simply prevented you from pretending a Boats Group listing came from another platform, meaning the clause is not an exclusive dealing arrangement.Finally, Brill Maritime argued that Boats Group had dramatically increased its prices. The judge responded that high prices alone are not an antitrust violation. The court cited multiple precedents saying a legal monopolist is generally allowed to charge whatever prices it wants. To prove monopolisation, Brill Maritime needed to show that the higher prices resulted from illegal exclusionary conduct.In conclusion, the judge accepted that Boats Group may hold monopoly power in the US online boat-listing market, but ruled that the plaintiffs failed to show that Boats Group acquired or maintained that position through illegal anticompetitive conduct.United States District Judge, Roy K. Altman dismissed the complaint without prejudice, meaning the plaintiff is able to resubmit an amended complaint, with a deadline of 30 June 2026.&nbsp;The lawsuit also contained claims under Florida law, with the federal court declining to hear the state claims as the federal antitrust claims were dismissed. TISG and RYI have announced the delivery of the first Picchiotti Gentleman 24M yacht, which has been christened Gentleman.
