The salvage of the 49m superyacht 007 which sank in Greece last month, has now begun.

The vessel also carried 6,000 gallons of ultra-low sulphur MGO as bunkers (vessel fuel). All but two cargo tanks were pressed up (full), and there was no ballast onboard.According to the crew of Tropic Breeze, her AIS had a power issue and worked intermittently, and was scheduled to be repaired as soon as COVID precautions allowed a technician to travel to the vessel. However, investigators found that the AIS unit had not transmitted a position in 11 months. Of the two radars onboard, one was turned off at the time and the other was set to a three-mile radius, with the radar set to alarm for targets within two miles. It will also have four docks for yachts up to 200-metres in length and three for those up to 155-metres.&nbsp;An additional 40 mooring points will be available and 25 refit spots on shore, which will be serviced by a lift capable of carrying 80-metre yachts.

The course aims to create real career opportunities for participants, such as naval carpentry, deck fitting, engine mechanics, the list goes on.The first edition of the three-month course officially launched in March, and will be held at the “Don Bosco” Professional Training Centre in Forlì. After this first stage in Forlì, the Scuola dei Mestieri will move to Mondolfo and Sarnico in September to involve more young people in the new project.
