This week, as part of our SYT 3D superyacht of the week series we take a closer look at the 51.32-metre sailing yacht Rainbow II.Rainbow II features naval architecture and exterior design by Dykstra Naval Architects, with her interior coming from the drawing boards of deVosdeVries Design. Her aesthetic is a nod to classic sailing yachts, while featuring modern comforts and technology.Rainbow II, built by Turquoise Yachts, was originally under construction as a schooner in the Netherlands before her hull was purchased by her current builder and she was transformed into a sloop. She is expected to be delivered in 2021. The superyacht is constructed with an aluminium hull and superstructure and features approximately 600 square-metres of sails. Rainbow II sports one 551kW Volvo D16 main engine.At 230 GT, Rainbow II can accommodate as many as 12 guests across five staterooms. Down below, her owner’s stateroom is situated to the stern and is complete with a double bed and a sky light. Her remaining guest accommodations, a VIP, two twins and a double, are situated forward, each complete with its own bathroom. A sofa bed for two people is located in the lower saloon.
