The owners of the 55 metre superyacht Engelberg christened the yacht yesterday at the Dutch shipyard Amels. SuperYachtTimes.com travelled to the seaside town of Vlissingen, in South of Holland to see the ceremony, which was attended by the owner's broker Jeroen Minnema from OCEAN Independence, New build management Daniel Küpfer & Krzysztof Ponikiewski from OCEAN Management, Interior designer Enzo Enea and Focus Yacht Design, managing partner of OCEAN Independence Peter Hürzeler, the Amels team and 400 or so shipyard workers and contractors.
The most customized yacht in the Amels Limited Edtions to date, Engelberg has been designed to perfectly meet with her Owner’s needs. Advanced personal communications systems, a unique aft deck layout, and a charcoal grey hull with a hint of orange make this yacht a true original.
Engelberg will be solely for private use by her owners, and features a contemporary Enzo Enea & Focus Yacht Design interior, based on sand colours, earth tones and hues of blue. The yacht's layout design features several custom items such as; large sliding doors that open up the main salon to the side decks, and a private fold out balcony in the owner's stateroom. The yacht's main aft deck features an outside owner's office, with a large wraparound desk, that is cleverly connected to a low coffee table, allowing the owner to conduct business meetings, in the finest of surroundings.
The beach club is another striking design feature. Clad in a beautiful mosaic depicting a scene from the Blockbuster Finding Nemo, it contains a sauna, watertoy room, and a relax area.
In his speech, a member of the owning family expressed their appreciation of Amels, by saying a few words in perfect Dutch: "Amels builds the best yachts in the world. Long live Amels!".
