Concept 60m sportfisher Project Canyon unveiled by AB Yacht Design & Naval Architecture

The past few years have seen a wave of large scale sportfisher superyachts, and demand for the traditionally American yachts has reached an all-time high across the industry. AB Yacht Design studio, the British studio under designer Aristotelis Betsis, has now unveiled a 60-metre sportfisher superyacht concept called Project Canyon. The exterior design is characterised by smooth lines and a modern aesthetic, with the tower fitting seamlessly into the overall design rather than dominating it.Project Canyon yacht concept from AB Yacht Design & Naval Architecture“We always try to invest time in the development of concepts. Creativity comes best with freedom and concepts enable us to create with just the necessary limits. We are a fresh studio, and we want to stay that way.” Aristotelis Betsis, Design Director.Project Canyon yacht concept from AB Yacht Design & Naval ArchitectureShe features an inverted bow and slender hull, bringing the owner and guests closer to the water and ensuring smooth cruising even in high seas. The yacht has a top speed of 22 knots, so she is capable of getting to offshore fishing grounds in excellent time.Project Canyon yacht concept from AB Yacht Design & Naval ArchitectureProject Canyon yacht concept from AB Yacht Design & Naval ArchitectureProject Canyon has been designed to offer both activity and comfort and the deck spaces are particularly multifunctional. The aft is fully open, yet protected from the wind and sea spray by high bulwarks, offering her guests a close connection with the sea. A pool, sofas and sunbeds, a wet bar, ample storage, a fishing store, live bait tanks and a fighting chair can be found on this open deck area. A 12 metre shadow boat can be stowed in this area when underway using a twin-cradle system and retractable tender mounts which all vanish below deck when not in use. To the bow the superyacht has an open-air cinema, sofas, as well as sunbeds.Project Canyon yacht concept from AB Yacht Design & Naval ArchitectureInternally, Project Canyon features the main dining on the owner’s deck aft, and on the deck above, the bridge deck there is the main salon offering stunning views.
