Sanlorenzo signs contract to build 73m flagship superyacht 73Steel

The Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has signed a new contract for the 73-metre superyacht, 73Steel, making it the largest yacht ever built at the yard. The Superyacht Division finalised the sale through the broker house Fraser, bringing its total number of metal yachts sold in 2022 up to nine. The innovative motor yacht features a diesel-electric propulsion system aimed at minimising emissions, and a completely unconventional layout that will connect her interior and exterior spaces.

The exterior lines and naval architecture of the 73Steel will once again be entrusted to the creativity of Zuccon International Project, while her interior promises to be innovative and at times revolutionary. She will be designed to create a balance between ocean and nature onboard by using innovative technology.

"The design of the new 73Steel represents a fascinating new chapter in the yard's history, not only because of its size, which is currently the largest ever built, but also because it is a testament to how strongly the company believes in the evolution and importance of a complex market such as the superyacht market,” Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project commented.

The 73Steel superyacht will focus on maximum comfort, combined with meticulous attention to the aesthetics of the spaces. “Each line has been sculpted to emphasise the tension and plasticity of the forms, which seem to be inconstant motion, without pause, modifying and adapting themselves with the aim of creating the perfect dialogue between interior and exterior space,” Bernardo Zuccon added.

The Sanlorenzo 73Steel superyacht is due for delivery in 2026.
