Damen has signed a new build contract for the construction of a customised 75-metre yacht support vessel which will be completed in 2022. Designed to operate together with her mothership, the support yacht will measure 1,900 GT with a beam of 12 metres. Like some Yacht Support vessels before here, YS 7512 will be fully finished to yacht standard with a faired and painted exterior for a premium look whilst carrying Damen’s proven toy and provision-carrying DNA as shared with the 16 vessels in the yacht Support fleet before her. Up to 45 persons including crew and guests can be accommodated on board.
“At the time of delivery she will be the 17th Yacht Support delivered,” says Rob Luijendijk, Director Sales at Amels and Damen. “She will also be the largest to date, which I think continues to show the scalability of the support solution for large superyachts.” The project is being supervised on behalf of the client by Wright Maritime Group who acted as the consultant on the custom design and technical development of YS 7512.
The purpose-built vessel comes with her own helicopter hangar able to accommodate craft up to a D-value of 14 along with a host of tenders and toys to be stored on deck. In addition, YS 7512 will carry advanced equipment for containerised emergency relief support.
