Photo: Nico CartallaCaptured this week at anchor removed from civilisation deep in the Pacific Costa Rican wilderness is the 95-metre Lürssen Madsummer. Built in Rendsburg, Germany to a design by Harrison Eidsgaard and overseen by Moran Yacht & Ship, Madsummer the entered the charter market shortly after her delivery last year as one of the largest yachts available for charter at €1,400,000 per week. Just some of the onboard amenities include a 12-metre longitudinal swimming pool on the main deck aft, a large spa, extensive diving facilities and a helicopter landing pad on the foredeck. Inside, she can accommodate up to 20 guests (12 during charter) in 10 staterooms. Madsummer boasts a peak levelling system and 125kW lithium-ion battery pack which burns less fuel and stores any excess energy produced, eliminating the need to start another generator. Her range of up to 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots and a top speed of 17 knots is thanks to her twin MTU 16V 4000 M63 IMO compliant engines. Get a closer look inside Madsummer in our onboard feature.
