A & E Yacht Services (a company that operates in the paintwork of superyachts) has presented to SuperYachtTimes.com its robotic system IMR 1.0 (patented) that has a significantly shorter, reproducible and safer production cycle on the filler modelling and sanding. What is unique to the robot is the ability to be used in almost any shipyard due to its mobility.
The robot is currently used on straight external surfaces like the hull and external areas of the superstructure.
In the last 2 years the company has finished 5 superyachts of around 50 metres and currently they are working on a 46 metre Baglietto in close cooperation with the main contractor ThyssenKrupp Xervon GmbH (Branch Milan).
V. Rina of A & E Yacht Services, says “We hope to sign a cooperation contract with ThyssenKrupp Xervon GmbH which will allow us and Xervon to give a full service to future Shipyard Clients".(Xervon offers Surface technologies like surface preparation up to top coating, Tank coatings and Scaffolding). "The cooperation will also involve the development of the next generation of the robot. With our technology we intend to reduce costs and processing time by increasing productivity and quality of the final result."
