Advanced New Technologies Ltd, or ANT as they are better known in our industry, have just received their second Queen’s Award for Enterprise to add to the one they received in 2005. Both awards are for the International/Trade category and recognise the company’s achievements and major growth over the last five years.
ANT’s business is based around groundbreaking technological innovation in the luxury yacht and residential markets. The company offers a wide range of products and services covering Entertainment and Control, Communications and Data, Integrated Bridge and Navigation and Security Systems. They are quickly becoming one of the worlds leading specialists in technology applications to the marine leisure industry. With projects such as SY Galaxia, La Mirage, Safari and Lady Anne, to name just a few, the company has carved itself a niche in the superyacht sector.
The Queens Award is the most coveted commercial recognition a business can receive. The Awards started in 1966 as the Queens Award to Industry but have now been renamed to take in all sorts of organisations. Awarded every year on the Queens Birthday, later this year ANT will attend a reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen to recognise their achievements.
“Getting this silver award in the group’s 21st year in business is sensational” said Steve Puckering, ANT’s Managing Director & CEO. “We started in 1987 with two employees and now the group have 102. This award is recognition for all their hard work. Not just here in Hull and Southampton but also our Service Centre in Sophia Antipolis in the South of France, our Dutch office and our most recent developments on the West Coast of the US where we will be looking to open an office for our recently recruited Business Development Manager”.
“Our customer base is now global. We work with all the major European yards and are building excellent working relationships with yachtbuilders in other parts of the world. Our reputation for installation on time, on budget and to specification is growing all the time. This Queen’s Award is a recognition of our achievement in worldwide markets and shows the massive strides we have taken in recent years”.
The company has order books stretching into 2011. “With success has come even more demand for our services, not just on the original core audio-visual side but in other on-board systems technology areas. We are also finding that customers want servicing and upgrades to their vessels, which is why we have our French Service Centre. Add refits and new builds to the workload and we are busier than we have ever been”.
This is born out by ANT’s phenomenal growth over the last five years and it doesn’t stop there. “With new products, technological advancements and new markets, such as the US being explored, this is an exciting period of expansion for ANT” continued Steve. “This award is the icing on the cake for ANT. It is recognition at the highest level and underpins our achievements to date. I would like to thank our customers around the world for giving us the opportunity to win our second Queen’s Award. Without the exciting and challenging projects they bring to us we would never be in the running for recognition of this high standing. Long may it continue."
