The latest addition to Abeking & Rasmussen’s fleet of superyachts was officially launched this morning in Lemwerder as superyacht Excellence was lowered into the waters of the Weser River for the first time - a moment celebrated by the owner’s team, the yachts' crew and Abeking & Rasmussen staff. Excellence’s modern exterior by Winch Design is characterised by a sharp plumb bow and striking multi-level reflective windows that give the yacht a unique signature as her surrounding changes. The experienced in-house team at Abeking & Rasmussen worked closely with the team at GL Yachtverglasung GmbH who are responsible for the development, delivery and installation of all the glass panels on board the yacht. Inside, guests can look forward to luxuries such as a large swimming pool on the main deck aft, a jacuzzi on the owner’s deck aft and a large water-level tender garage where the yacht’s limousine tenders will be kept. “Excellence represents a huge milestone. A completely unique superstructure, she signifies an innovative and exciting new genre for Winch Design,” said Andrew Winch.Photo: Tom van Oossanen
“We are very proud of this extraordinary yacht and our exceptional workforce, who mastered all requirements bravely. Never before have glass panels installed in these dimensions. The unusual lines also repeatedly presented employees with major challenges. Now we have developed and successfully finished this masterpiece and can hardly wait for the sea trials” said Hans Schaedla, CEO of Abeking & Rasmussen.
On schedule for delivery this summer season, Excellence will now undergo final outfitting at the shipyard and sea trials on the North Sea.
