Abu Dhabi Yacht Show Golf Classic 2010

The Abu Dhabi Yacht Show Golf Classic took place yesterday, meticulously organised by Ken Jamieson, Chief Xperience Officer and Group Director of IIR Middle East, who welcomed approximately 50 people to play on this most spectacular of golf courses, designed by the legendary South African, Gary Player.

It was a true privilege to experience each and every hole before the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club's official opening next month. An extremely testing course which kept you guessing all the way around. Holes such as the 15th named 'Double Trouble' being the perfect example - a hole where I found the water, twice! Others were fortunate enough to find the bunkers, and if they didn't on that particular hole, they would have done elsewhere - some holes with 100's of yards of sand up the fairway!

We were all looked after very well indeed by the team at Informa Yacht Group, and also the staff at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, which duly made for a fantastic day of golf, scenery, jokes and laughter.

Merijn de Waard was invited to photograph the event, whilst I was playing. The good news is that SuperYachtTimes.com got their hands on the Winners Trophy at the end of a tremendous day; a great way to start an exciting few days ahead, at the 2nd Abu Dhabi Yacht Show organised by the Informa Yacht Group. Stay tuned for our usual photo gallery update during the show.
