"They expect environments that support better sleep, reduced stress, cleaner air and a stronger connection to nature. Wellness is no longer considered a luxury – it is becoming an expectation."That evolution represents a broader shift in the purpose of a yacht. Rather than serving primarily as a platform for entertaining, owners are increasingly seeking spaces that encourage privacy, reflection and meaningful time with loved ones."A decade ago, many yachts were primarily focused on entertaining," Carla notes. "The goal is not simply to create beautiful spaces, but spaces that genuinely improve how people live and feel."That philosophy is increasingly reflected in yacht interiors, where many of the design principles first established in luxury homes are finding a place on board. Comfort has become as important as craftsmanship, with natural materials, layered textures, softer forms and flexible family spaces replacing more formal, highly decorative interiors.Owners, Carla believes, no longer want a yacht that resembles a luxury hotel. Natural daylight, carefully considered acoustics and materials that create warmth and tactility all contribute to an environment that encourages relaxation without drawing attention to themselves."The most important wellness elements are often invisible," Carla explains. "A space that reduces stress, improves sleep, encourages relaxation and creates a sense of balance can be just as impactful as a spa or fitness centre."Applying these principles aboard a yacht inevitably presents additional challenges, but she believes the design intent should remain consistent. "We carefully consider natural light, circadian rhythms, material selection, airflow, acoustics and visual connection to the sea," she says. "Every design decision should contribute to a sense of comfort and harmony."Technology also has an increasingly important role to play, although Carla argues that its success lies in remaining largely unnoticed. "The most successful innovations are often the least visible. While every refit is different, depending not only on the brief of the client, but also on the technical elements of the yacht being refitted, the yard has worked to create a largely streamlined refit process.“We have a standard order of operation,” shares Swen Westerdijk, Head of Refit at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/44" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Abeking & Rasmussen (Company)">Abeking &amp; Rasmussen</a>. The process commences with an initial analysis, ensuring the team understands all that needs to be done during the refit; from there the most strategic way to go about the refit is planned out. Once the strategy and outline are ready, the refit goes into the engineering and procurement phase before everything is carried out and executed.&nbsp;The duration of this time, and the extent of each refit depends, of course, on the yacht and the owner’s wishes. The team also undertakes refit projects of other vessels. “The differences are not actually as great as one might think,” shares Swen. “Should technical documentation be missing, we are able to create a digital twin very quickly.” Not only that, but the yard has ample in-house expertise, especially in design and project planning, which enables them to carry out even the most complex kinds of refit.In 2025, the yard refitted the 73-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/112" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Starfire73.0m (239'6&quot;)Lürssen Yachts2007">Starfire</a>. Swen shares how “the key to it being a successful refit was a clear project structure and close, ongoing communication between us and the client, owner’s representative and crew.” Regular meetings, transparent progress reports and centrally managed project management ensured that all parties were fully informed during all stages of the refit. “This open communication enabled us to identify challenges at an early stage,” Swen notes, “which in turn allowed us to make decisions efficiently and ensure each project is completed on time and within budget. Once completed, the crew marks the open request as completed and the button is once again ready to go.The purpose of the GEST button is to ensure privacy, “there is no microphone on the physical button, it’s something we don’t want to include precisely because of privacy. From there everything has just grown really fast.&nbsp;How many call buttons each yacht orders, depends mostly on size. “We see two options,” notes Lucie. “The first one is that the yacht just wants it in common areas, such as the lounge or the aft deck. For Maite and her team that means helping with any type of request that they may receive. “Sometimes it’s helping someone book accommodation, sometimes it’s finding second-hand golf clubs or taking someone to the doctor. With 24-hour surveillance and glass walls surrounding the entire premise, guests can feel safe and secure, as well as controlled dock access. Different personalities, backgrounds and generations bring varying perspectives, but everyone shares the same objective: continuously improving the marina and the service delivered to its clients. “Nani [the Sales Business Manager at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6623" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocibar (Company)">Ocibar</a>] is always running, he’s always one step ahead and has such a brilliant mind, this way of working has inspired me a lot,” shares Maite. The 60-metre Lürssen superyacht Caipirinha has been sold, with SuperYachtsMonaco and Edmiston.

She features exterior design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1124" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lobanov Design (Company)">Lobanov Design</a>, while her naval architecture was developed in-house by her builder.Outside, she presents a sporty profile characterised by sleek lines and expansive glazing, strengthening the connection between the yacht's interior and exterior spaces.Designed as part of the Mangusta Maxi Open range, the yacht offers generous outdoor living areas alongside refined interiors defined by expansive glass surfaces seamlessly integrated into her architecture to enhance onboard comfort as well as aesthetics.According to the shipyard, the model combines the brand's design language with a contemporary approach to onboard living.Constructed with a GRP hull and superstructure, she has a beam of 7.06-metres and a shallow draft of 1.6-metres, allowing access to shallow reefs and remote anchorages. At an interior volume of 165 GT, accommodation onboard is arranged for up to 10 guests across four staterooms. Dedicated quarters sleep up to four crew members, including her captain.In terms of performance, she is powered by twin MTU engines, propelling her to a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots.&nbsp;
