Spanish yacht design studio Alex Pirard have unveiled their latest creation, the MY 215. The 65 metre concept is designed as a high performance yacht that makes use of the platform’s sleek and uninterrupted lines to focus on large and open exterior areas. With a beam of 11.3 metres and propelled by KaMeWa waterjets driven by three MTU engines, the MY 215 will reach a top speed of 30 knots.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157443/image/large-366bc91ee14d11f42e49b2c3c6bc1ac6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157443">It is from the upper deck where guests can access both forward and aft exterior areas, through the walk around deck layout. A hydraulically raised bimini forward of the cockpit provides shelter for guests wanting to relax in private. According to the designers, the concept was conceived as a purpose-built world cruise cruiser capable of supporting extended voyages while accommodating a range of owner lifestyles.A key feature of the project is the availability of three distinct configurations built on a common platform.The Fisherman version is focused on a generous open aft deck designed to accommodate a substantial tender and a selection of water toys, without needing a dedicated chase boat. In Zero Mode or also known as Silent Mode, M80 would operate fully on electric propulsion, delivering vibration-free navigation with zero local emissions for up to eight hours, which would enable access to environmentally protected areas.In Eco-Hybrid Mode, diesel generators operate at optimal efficiency while electric motors provide propulsion, reducing fuel consumption by an estimated 25 to 30 percent. Yet beneath the surface, the real differences emerge in structure, interpretation, and legal context.We asked ChatGPT to compare two superyacht insurance proposals. The outcome was structured, fast, and seemingly logical. In reality, Policy A may contain a separate war exclusion clause elsewhere in the wording that has the same, or even stricter, effect.2. Comparing apples with orangesOne operates on a Named Perils basis (only explicitly listed risks), the other on an All Risks basis (everything is covered unless excluded). The same term, but a completely different scope. Deductibles and sub-limits are overlookedAI tends to focus on the main coverage and premium, while the real differences are often found in the sub-limits. These include maximum payouts per incident for tenders, crew medical limits per person, and differing deductibles for machinery damage versus navigational incidents. Such details are typically scattered throughout the policy and are easily missed.It also struggles to recognise requirements for minimum underlying covers, such as mandatory national healthcare or other primary insurance arrangements. These elements can be critical to the validity and effectiveness of the coverage, yet are rarely identified without expert review.4. What is NOT included remains invisibleChatGPT can only compare what is written. It cannot identify what is missing. No cyber clause? AI will not flag it, because there is nothing to read. A specialist, however, knows what should be there and recognises the gap immediately.It also lacks the ability to properly assess how coverage is structured.
