On a beautiful spring morning, the third Kokomo to be built at Alloy Yachts slid into the water for her trip down the waterway to Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/129730/image/large-eec6b66f2047d784195630b802e7c0d5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129730">The 58.4m superyacht’s launch created a new record as the largest sailing yacht to be built to date, by Alloy Yachts or any other New Zealand boat builder. <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1625">Kokomo</a> will spend the next two months in final commissioning and sailing about the sparkling Waitemata. The hull of the 60-metre superyacht Feadship 713 has been spotted in transit from the Feadship De Vries Group <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5058" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Scheepswerf Slob (Company)">Scheepswerf Slob</a> facility in Papendrecht near Rotterdam. Produced by UK-based Insensys, the system is based on three rotating carbon fibre masts capable of deploying up to 2,396 square-metres of sail.
