The 41m classic Fife schooner Altair proves she is still a force to be reckoned with on the classic yacht racing circuit. Despite having not raced for 2 years and dashing back from her extended summer cruise in Greece and Croatia, Altair put in a very solid performance at this year’s Les Voiles de St Tropez regatta, 25th September – 3rd October; scoring two second places a first and a third.
It’s testament to the versatility of Altair that the yacht can comfortably undertake extended cruising all summer, spending the majority of this time at anchor, return for a quick yard stop to complete a Lloyds class survey and immediately sail to St Tropez and achieve 2nd in class.
Altair remains one of the most genuine and original classics sailing today and is for sale through Toby Maclaurin at Ocean Independence.
