Amels’ 55-metre Limited Edition Papa has returned to the Damen Yachting facility in Vlissingen for a two-month refit. Papa was launched in 2019 and spent the last two years based in the South-East region. She has just embarked on a 8,500 nautical mile trans-Pacific voyage from Phuket to return to the Netherlands. 
“As far as Ocean Passages go, this was not an easy one,” Captain Olly Lewis, a repeat Amels fleet Captain, explains. “We experienced very challenging weather for almost all of the 8,500 nautical miles it took to get here and it was certainly an eye-opener for a lot of the crew. That said, Papa handled herself brilliantly and it was worth everything the elements threw at us to be able to bring her back to the yard where she was originally built. It’s great to be back here and working with the Amels team at the yard."
Photo: AmelsTim Heywood Design handled the exterior styling of Papa, while it was Damen Yachting who penned her naval architecture. With 671 GT and accommodation for as many as 12 guests and 13 crew, Papa has proven to be a successful charter yacht for Burgess. She has been designed for relaxation, socialising and entertainment and has been fitted with a diverse range of amenities to facilitate this. Papa has an onboard cinema, large jacuzzi, gym, Teppanyaki bar and the signature Amels 180 enlarged Sun Deck. Papa’s interior styling was directed by Laura Sessa who drew her with urban sophistication and coastal chic comfort.
