Dutch shipyard Amels started 2020 with the transportation of its largest yacht to date, the 78-metre Amels Full Custom, to its Vlissingen City yard for the outfitting process to begin. The new superyacht arrived from the hull builder, Damen Shipyards Galati on the Danube river in Romania, after the hull was launched sideways into the water. Photo: Tom van Oossanen / Amels / DamenThe 2,850 GT project is due to be completed in 2021 to the designs of Espen Øino, who worked closely with the owner to create the exterior lines, whereas Amels’ in-house design and engineering team oversaw the naval architecture and engineering of the vessel. In total, Amels and Damen have 26 yacht projects underway at both their new build and hull building facilities.
