Amels launched its first Amels 220 superyacht, Aurora Borealis, last week in Vlissingen, the Netherlands as the first of its kind in Amels' new 220 line of Limited Editions motor yachts. The new Amels 220 superyacht is an evolution of the Amels 212 model of which three units have been launched since 2011.Photo: Tom van OossanenPhoto: Tom van Oossanen
From the same hand that has drawn the entire Amels Limited Editions portfolio, Tim Heywood lengthened the decks of this new design and added a large 65-square-metre swim platform and beach club. Her ocean-going capabilities have not been altered and Aurora Borealis benefits from data gathered from the entire Amels fleet to deliver a highly efficient cruising experience that is safe and comfortable.Photo: Tom van OossanenPhoto: Tom van Oossanen
For this project, which was overseen by owner’s representative Antoine Larricq from Fraser, Winch Design was selected to design the custom interior on board. The 1,150-square-metre interior houses the seven luxury guest suites and is perfectly set up to host the entire family and entertaining large groups. Elsewhere, two 8-metre tenders are stowed in the stern garage along with extended storage for a host of watersport toys and exploration craft. Photo: Tom van Oossanen
