Motor yacht Altair III in Naples
Photo: Justin RatcliffeThe 59-metre motor yacht Altair III started life as a pilot vessel built by Dutch yacht builder Amels in 1974. Following a new interior and exterior redesign by the late Jon Bannenberg, the vessel was converted into a luxury superyacht in 1996 by Australian shipyard Oceanfast. In 2003 her bridge deck was lengthened at Arredamenti Porto in Genoa. Today the Italian flagged yacht can predominantly be found cruising the waters around Italy.
