Sunreef Yachts has opened a brand new office in Dubai. 

The Spanish marina group Marinas de Mediterráneo has announced an exciting new partnership with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="D-Marin (Company)">D-Marin</a>, the selection of premium marinas. This will be <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="D-Marin (Company)">D-Marin’s</a> first venture into the Spanish market, marking a significant milestone in its expansion strategy.&nbsp;This partnership adds three new marinas to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="D-Marin (Company)">D-Marin’s</a> pan-Mediterranean network. At seventeen I took my first captaincy of a 24-metre sailing yacht, which eventually led me to Europe. During my career at sea, I held various positions that took me down the technical path, and this is where I met <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4946" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow Services Monaco (Company)">Arrow</a>’s founder Paul Archer, back in 2002.&nbsp;Paul and I sailed together a few times and then I joined the Arrow family in 2007 to help build up the technical side of the business. The move ashore was probably a little premature, however I’d recognised early that I’d eventually need a shore-based career, so I committed to the change in direction, and luckily it worked out well.At <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4946" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow Services Monaco (Company)">Arrow Monaco</a>, I followed my passion for yacht construction into a technical management role, and in 2018 became managing director before taking on the role of CEO in 2020. In the past, we have taken on a lot of conversion and extension projects of large vessels. The 3D technology started out as being incredibly useful for these projects, but later for many other applications too – both technically for ourselves for planning phases, and financially for the owners. The technology required was not quick or easy to implement, but today, with the help of some great tech partners, we are using 3D scanning as a tool for everything from surveys to refits, to new builds and operational management.&nbsp;For example, we can scan an entire yacht, mark up all the works that need to be done within the 3D scan, and then send this to the shipyard, meaning that they don’t even have to visit the boat in order to be able to make a very accurate assessment of what needs to be done and how to quantify pricing.&nbsp;Equally where clients have faced travel restrictions during the pandemic, 3D scans have been an invaluable tool for the pre-purchase survey stages. Overall, it means that we have far faster response times than would have traditionally been possible due to geographical and time restrictions.
