Dubois Naval Architects have delightedly announced that both superyachts Zefira and Imagine won their categories in the World Superyacht Awards, with Zefira also achieving Sailing Yacht of the Year!
Kokomo received the Judges Special Award in the 45 metre plus category for technical innovation & excellence and both Twizzle and Lady B received Judge’s Commendations.
Dubois Naval Architects mentioned how Imagine has a very special place in their hearts. The owner of ‘little’ Imagine, launched in 1993, loved the boat so much that he wanted many of the same features incorporated into the considerably larger new Imagine, the 44 metre. The second Imagine, built by Alloy Yachts, as was the earlier yacht and her victory is a clear message that the design, conceived all those years ago, has stood the test of time and these ingredients, combined with the cumulative and uniquely large bank of knowledge from the intervening period makes the latest Imagine a very special boat indeed. She is the 21st Dubois design to be built by Alloy Yachts and thereby marks an exceptional milestone in the two companies association with one another.
Another award winning design, superyacht Zefira is the 7th Dubois design to be built by Fitzroy Yachts and signifies a new and appealing development both above and below decks. At the time of her launch, this 49.7 metre fast cruising sloop was the largest sloop Dubois Naval Architects had designed without a flybridge. She is of aluminium construction with a bulb keel and a maximum beam of 9.95 metres. Zefira’s lines, silhouette and technical performance are something to be admired. She was designed for Italian owners who are wonderfully passionate and artistic. Their valued input was an integral part of this design. Comfort below was essential, as was the detail and finish. This was provided by the inimitable skills of Remi Tessier. Both the interior and exterior are equally spectacular. This elegant yacht will continue to look contemporary long into her life, well-standing the test of time. Lastly, Dubois Naval Architects mentioned that congratulations must be given not only to the owners, the shipyards but to all those involved with these award-winning yachts.
