<a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/companies/azimut">Azimut&nbsp;</a>has revealed that it has a new flagship model: the first Azimut Grande Trideck that is in build in Viareggio. &nbsp; <img src="/uploads/store/photo/73789/image/large-c96e987e06b11f3f9c4c1417dbcfd68d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/73789">At 37.6 metres overall with a 7.98-metre beam and rated at just under 300GT, the new model is significantly more voluminous than the current 35-metre flagship. Three units have been sold with a fourth under negotiation and the first will make its official debut at the end of 2020. &nbsp;“Ensuring that we stayed below 300GT meant that the Trideck has been quite a complex project in terms of the design and engineering package,”&nbsp;says chief technical officer, Alessandro Rossi. “I think the market will be very surprised by the available space and volume on board this boat.”&nbsp;With exterior design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/3025" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Alberto Mancini Yacht Design (Company)">Alberto Mancini</a>, the new Trideck introduces the split-level exterior deck arrangement as seen on the new <a data-gid="gid://syiq/YachtModel/7852" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Azimut S1028.7m (94'2&quot;)">Azimut S10</a> with a raised level ‘terrace’ on the main deck aft. For the data &amp; measurement specialist, entrepreneur, and founder of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8890" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="SailADV Group (Company)">SailADV</a>, the quote is not a provocation – it is the premise on which he built an entire company.&nbsp;After years as a professional sailor on the international race circuit, Giovanni Palamà understands that performance on the water is never the product of instinct alone: it is the result of consistent, objective and repeatable measurement.&nbsp;“When I left racing and moved into consultancy, I realised the superyacht industry lacked this scientific discipline,” he says. “Extremely complex vessels were being delivered, yet there was no standardised way to quantify whether they actually performed according to their design.
