Azimut Yachts has completed their first 25.2-metre pocket superyacht, the Azimut Magellano 25 Metri, a yacht created in partnership with interior designer and architect Vincenzo De Cotiis. Exterior designer Ken Freivokh produced the first hull design with a brass colour and mustard ‘beauty stripe’.Photo: Azimut Yachts Photo: Azimut YachtsThe central element in the exterior design is the fully-glazed superstructure, created to convey a penthouse overlooking the sea. Guests will also find non-slip surfaces on the transom and retro-style windows in the hull. The carbon fibre project draws on the latest technological developments, including a NASA-patent air sanitising system, fuel-efficient Dual Mode hull and a zero-emission mode when at anchor.Photo: Azimut YachtsPhoto: Azimut YachtsInside, an essential material for the interior décor is fibreglass and a 'special' resin used for several art pieces that appear as multiple layers embellished with bronze powder. In contrast, the interior designer used various woods such as brushed Verde Alpi marble, dark walnut wood, carpet, polished brass, lacquered wood and ribbed wood to create flowing shapes throughout the yacht. The lower deck is home to four of five cabins, including two VIPs, one double and one with sliding double beds.Photo: Azimut YachtsPhoto: Azimut YachtsPhoto: Azimut YachtsWith its own walk-in-wardrobe, the owner’s suite was built with elastic joints between the motors and inverters to prevent any vibrations being felt inside the boat. If wanting to enjoy the outdoors, the owner and up to seven additional guests can move to the bow area, where a large lounge area and an ‘infinity terrace’ can be found.Photo: Azimut YachtsPhoto: Azimut YachtsThe first Azimut Grande Magellano 25 Metri is fitted with twin MAN engines with 1,400 hp each, a V-Drive in-line transmission and a Humpree electric fin stabilisation system. At top speed, she can reach around 25 knots or cruise at 21 knots.Photo: Azimut YachtsPhoto: Azimut YachtsMore details of the new superyacht are set to be shared in September in a short film directed by Gabriele Muccino to celebrate the launch of the new model and the Azimut Magellano Collection.
