Azimut Yachts is getting ready to launch the third hull in their Azimut Grande 120SL series. The yacht is scheduled to be launched in April 2014. At just over 36 metres, she is an important part of the Azimut Benetti Group’s mega yachts business line.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/23435/image/large-101c591b22659c91e2384af5a2c20249.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/23435">The 120SL is a shining example of Italian design with exteriors by Stefano Righini Design and interior designs produced by Rome-based Carlo Galeazzi. The 120SL is an ambitious project, aiming for a combination of comfort and performance without cutting any corners.Paolo Vitelli, chairman of the Azimut Benetti Group commented: “Azimut Grande represents a tangible response to the needs expressed by our boat owners: it is an appealing and distinctive line that doesn't cut corners in terms of comfort and flawless performance. Rigorous trials and tank testing have helped develop a high-performance keel that can cruise with ease, even in rough seas. Adopting water jet transmissions has significantly limited vibrations and noise, maximising onboard comfort for the boat owner and guests”.Power comes from two Rolls-Royce water jets and a central booster, and with a top speed of 39 knots.

Produced by UK-based Insensys, the system is based on three rotating carbon fibre masts capable of deploying up to 2,396 square-metres of sail.
