Balk Shipyard take ownership of Jachtwerf Bloemsma

Balk Shipyard in the Netherlands has recently announced it has taken ownership of fellow Dutch shipyard, Jachtwerf Bloemsma. The news was first revealed to a group of international journalists on the annual HISWA tour in the Netherlands which came to an end yesterday evening. Director of Balk shipyard, Daan Balk, and Jan Hart, who had already taken over Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw, mutually agreed the sale.

Hart, the owner and managing director at Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw, will retain full focus on aluminium construction, and will continue to work to expand the company in this field. Balk Shipyard will continue focusing on refit and rebuild projects. Current projects at the Balk yard include the 44.9 metre Bravado, the 44.2 metre Valeria, and a 50 metre Amels superyacht.

Jachtwerf Bloemsma has two projects currently in the pipeline: the sailing yachts Mulligan and Copihue. More information on the future strategy of the yard in light of the new ownership will become available as it is determined in the coming months.
