Nauta Design has released more information about the 115’ sailing yacht project, currently underway at Baltic Yachts, in Finland. The yacht is designed by Nauta Design and Judel-Vroljik. Nauta Design did the general concept, exterior styling and interior design, and Judel-Vroljik the Naval Architecture. The two studios have already worked side by side on a 116’ yachts, currently under construction at Baltic too.
The 115 will feature aggressive deck and hull lines, a large sail area, and a relatively light displacement of 88 tons.
The client’s request was for a yacht that could successfully race in several regattas. In order to achieve this, the designers came up with a high performance hull, which is the result of a thorough CFD study. At the same time the yacht offers a luxurious interior, that has four spacious guest cabins, and a large owner’s cabin, as well as three comfortable cabins for the crew.
The interiors features low weight furniture with composite panels covered with thin veneer. Nauta describes the interior as "simple, essential and intriguing, with a smooth chromatic balance and a deep feeling of calm transmitted to the guests through the gentle combination of oak wood and light coloured linen panels".
The delivery is expected in 2015.
