Baltic Yachts has signed a contract to begin building a new 33.83-metre "ultra-lightweight" superyacht with a delivery date during May 2023. The Baltic Custom 111 yacht has been designed by Jarkko Jämsén – also the designer of the 77.25-metre yacht Pi. Once the construction process starts in April 2020, the team will create what has been described as "one of the most extreme projects Baltic has undertaken".Jarkko JämsénPhoto: Tom van OossanenDesigned for fast coastal and offshore sailing, the new yacht will feature an advanced composite structure with a modern and minimalist living platform. The sensitive weight required specific calculations – an area Baltic Yachts excels in – and so, the yacht’s structure will be incorporated into the interior and light materials such as bamboo and rattan will be used. The design has been developed to include a luxury interior with a fully-fitted galley and air conditioning despite the challenging weight targets.Anders Kurten, CEO of Baltic YachtsPhoto: Eva-Stina Kjellman
Baltic Yachts CEO Anders Kurtén, comments: “This stunning new yacht will break new ground in leading-edge technology, a challenge I am confident the entire Baltic family is ready to meet. Winning this contract reflects our almost 50-year pledge to build light, stiff and fast. We can’t wait to get started!”
