Baltic Yachts signs contract for 66m ketch.

According to Yachting World Baltic Yachts of Finland signed a contract for a 66.9m (220ft) ketch. The yacht will be designed by Dutch designer Gerard Dijkstra and Reichel Pugh from San Diego. The project will be managed by Jens Cornelsen who also oversaw the construction of Lürssen’s EOS.

The yacht will have a light ship displacement of 210 tonnes and 40 tons of water ballast. With a lifting keel it’s possible to extend her draft from 3.50m to a maximum draft of 9.50m. It’s the biggest order yet for Baltic Yachts and the carbon composite yacht should be launched in July 2010.
